  • The Edmonton Oilers head to Hollywood to face off with the Los Angeles Kings
  • Focus on McDavid’s production and LA’s struggling penalty kill
  • Read below for my Oilers vs Kings prediction, player props, and latest odds for Tuesday night

The Edmonton Oilers (4-0-1) visit the Los Angeles Kings (0-2-2) Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena. Edmonton has won four straight and scored 25 goals in five games. Los Angeles is still looking for its first win, having managed just 10 goals in four contests while allowing 17.

McDavid has been the story early on with 13 points through five games. LA’s penalty kill is operating at 56.3% (9-for-16), which could be a major issue against Edmonton’s power play.

Puck drop is at 10:30 pm ET. Here are my Oilers vs Kings prediction, NHL player props, and best bets.

Oilers vs Kings Prediction

My Oilers vs Kings prediction is on Edmonton. The Oilers have scored 25 goals and allowed 17 through five games (133 shots for, 116 against), and they’ve found another gear lately with just one, two, and one goal allowed in their last three. That defensive tightening, combined with their offensive firepower, makes them a tough out every night.

Los Angeles has scored 10 goals and allowed 17 through four games. The Kings have managed just one goal in each of their last two contests. At -133, Edmonton is priced as a moderate road favorite, and the gap in form between these two teams supports that number.

Oilers vs Kings Player Props

  • Connor McDavid Over 1.5 Points (-110 at Bet365)

McDavid has recorded multiple points in four of five games this season: 2, 5, 2, 3, and 1. His 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists) in five games put him squarely in the early Hart Trophy odds conversation. The form has been consistent, and the volume is there.

LA’s penalty kill at 56.3% is the weakest part of their game, and Edmonton’s power play is converting at 22.2% (4-for-18). McDavid drives that unit. At -120, this Oilers vs. Kings player prop is my favorite on the board tonight.

Leon Draisaitl is also worth watching. He has nine points and 21 shots through five games, with his anytime goal line sitting at +130 at Bet365. He’s scored in two of five, so the volume is there, but the conversion has been inconsistent. I’m passing on that one and sticking with McDavid’s broader scoring opportunities.

Oilers vs Kings Best Bets

This is a smaller Oilers vs Kings best bet. Edmonton’s games have averaged 8.4 total goals through five contests, and LA’s games have averaged 6.75 through four. Both numbers are inflated by early-season variance, and Edmonton has tightened up defensively in its last three (1, 2 and 1 goals allowed).

Oilers vs Kings Odds

The case for the over rests on LA’s penalty kill. At 56.3%, the Kings are giving up power-play goals at a rate that should produce extra scoring. But this pushes at six, so keep your sizing reasonable. Edmonton’s offense can carry this over the line, but it’s not as automatic as the early-season totals might suggest.

The Oilers vs. Kings odds have Edmonton at -133 on the moneyline and LA at +110 as the home underdog. The puck line is set at -1.5 for the Oilers at +190, while the total sits at 6.0 with the over juiced to -125. New users can check the BetMGM promo code page for sign-up offers.

The Oilers vs. Kings stats show Edmonton scoring twice as often per game (5.0 vs. 2.5), but the shot totals are closer than you’d expect. LA is generating 28.3 shots per game but allowing 29.0, meaning they’re not getting dominated in terms of volume. The problem is finishing and goaltending.
