NHL Prop Pick: Alex DeBrincat Over 3.5 Shots

DeBrincat has 24 shots on goal through six games (4.0 per contest) with four goals and four assists. His recent volume has been impressive: seven shots against Montreal and six against New Jersey in his last two outings, for a total of 13 shots. He had two goals and an assist in the latest game.

This NHL prop pick targets that volume against a Flyers team that has allowed 34.6 shots per game over eight contests. Detroit generates 31.8 shots per game as a team, so the pace should support DeBrincat continuing to fire at will. At -106 (roughly 51.5% break-even), this is near pick’em juice on a player well above the 3.5 threshold on average.

Tonight’s McDavid anytime goalscorer pick targets Utah’s penalty kill, which is at 74.1% (20-for-27) through seven games. At +115 (roughly 46.5% break-even), this is plus-money on a player who has been finding the net consistently and faces a team that has struggled shorthanded. McDavid’s recent scoring form and the matchup with Utah’s penalty kill make him my top anytime goalscorer pick for Thursday.
