Week 8 was the best week the Sportradar model has had in a while. It went 5-4-1 against the spread and 7-3 on totals for a 12-7-1 board, including an Indiana spread push.
That lifts the season to 42-38-1 ATS and 40-41 on totals, or 82-79-1 overall. The totals record is now one loss below .500 after a 7-3 week.
The college football AI predictions for Week 9 cover another 10 games, from Ohio State at USC to the Florida and Georgia rivalry moving to Atlanta. Here are the computer picks for spreads and totals, followed by four matchups worth a closer look.
College Football AI Predictions for Week 9
The totals split evenly at five overs and five unders. The sides are lopsided, with Cincinnati the only underdog the model wants out of 10 games.
These are the model’s original selections, with the listed lines verified at BetMGM on October 28. BYU -16.5, Notre Dame -30.5 and Clemson–Florida State Over 49.5 are alternate lines. Check the current college football odds before you bet, since several of these numbers sit differently around the market.
Ohio State at USC AI Prediction & Computer Picks
Ohio State is 6-1 and 4-0 in the Big Ten, and heads to Los Angeles without its injured starting quarterback. Julian Sayin is out indefinitely after hurting his throwing arm against Indiana on October 17, and Ryan Day had still not named a replacement at his October 27 availability.
Luke Fahey and Tavien St. Clair are the two in the mix, with Day leaving the door open to playing both. Fahey relieved Sayin in the 19-15 win at Indiana, which was Ohio State’s last game before a bye.
USC is 6-2 and 3-2 after a 24-7 loss at Wisconsin that was uglier than the score. The Badgers held the Trojans to minus-18 net rushing yards on 25 carries, and Jayden Maiava went 31-of-50 for 257 yards with two picks while taking five sacks.
The Ohio State vs USC prediction lays the points and takes the under, which is the logical pairing when one offense is breaking in a quarterback and the other just got shut down.
Florida vs Georgia AI Prediction & Computer Picks
The rivalry lands in Atlanta for the first time, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with Georgia as the designated home team. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC and both teams are coming off an open date.
No. 3 Georgia is 6-1 after a 27-24 home loss to Auburn. Gunner Stockton has completed 74.1% of his throws for 1,570 yards with 16 touchdowns and four picks, and the Bulldogs average 43.0 points and 469.9 yards while allowing 15.9.
No. 17 Florida is 5-2 and scoring 39.6 points a game, so the offense travels. The defense is the problem at 28.3 points and 255.0 passing yards allowed, which is where a 55.5 total starts looking reachable.
Florida’s quarterback is unsettled. Aaron Philo is working back from a shoulder injury and Tramell Jones Jr. started the 27-24 win at Texas, with Jon Sumrall saying both are taking reps. The Florida vs Georgia picks back the Bulldogs and the over.
Utah at Cincinnati AI Prediction & Computer Picks
No. 6 Utah is 7-0 and 4-0 in the Big 12, averaging 37.4 points and 478.4 yards while giving up 14.6 points and 88.3 rushing yards per game. Devon Dampier ran for 150 yards in the 21-13 win over Houston.
Cincinnati is 5-2 and just handed Texas Tech its first loss of the season. That is the result that makes the Bearcats interesting as a home underdog here, in a 3:45 p.m. ET window on ESPN.
The Utah vs Cincinnati picks take the points and the under. Utah allowing 14.6 points per game is the number behind that total, and the Utes just won a 21-13 game that would have landed well under this one.
Arizona at Texas Tech AI Prediction & Computer Picks
Both teams are 6-1 and 3-1 in the Big 12, with No. 22 Arizona visiting No. 13 Texas Tech at noon ET on ESPN. The Red Raiders carry a 12-game home winning streak into it.
Arizona is rolling, with five straight wins and a 39-3 handling of Iowa State in which Noah Fifita threw for 308 yards and the defense allowed 221 total yards. The Wildcats average 310.9 passing yards and convert 54.7% of their third downs.
That is the Arizona vs Texas Tech matchup in a sentence. Arizona moves the ball through the air at 310.9 yards a game and Texas Tech scores 35.9 points a game, so a 54.5 total needs only what both teams have already been doing, while the short spread says the home streak is doing the work on the side.
College Football AI Picks: Week 8 Results
The Week 8 college football AI picks went 5-4-1 against the spread and 7-3 on totals for a 12-7-1 board. Miami, Cincinnati, Texas A&M and Utah all delivered both sides of their card.
Indiana was the frustrating one. The Hoosiers needed overtime to get past Michigan 13-6 and landed exactly on the number, pushing the spread while the overtime points were not nearly enough for the over.
The season now sits at 42-38-1 ATS and 40-41 on totals, or 82-79-1 overall.
