The lightweight division takes center stage at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas tonight, as Renato Moicano squares off against Tom Nolan. The main card starts at 8:00 PM ET on Paramount+.
Moicano brings a wealth of high-level experience and a devastating submission game to the Octagon. Nolan enters his first career five-round fight riding five straight victories, most recently a unanimous decision over Fares Ziam.
This is a clean split between grappling control and striking volume, and the board prices it almost dead even. Here are my Moicano vs Nolan prediction and best prop bets for UFC Fight Night.
Moicano vs Nolan Prediction
- Moicano vs Nolan Pick: Renato Moicano Moneyline (-125 at BetMGM)
At -125, backing the veteran on the moneyline is the position I want. Nolan’s striking volume is real, but Moicano has the one thing that neutralizes it, and that is elite top control.
I am heavily factoring in that this is Nolan’s first five-round test. Twenty-five minutes is a different problem from fifteen, and Moicano has spent years dragging dangerous strikers into deep water and stifling their offense.
Nolan’s aggressive output leaves openings for a fighter who changes levels well. Once Moicano secures a takedown, his ability to dictate pace and drain the clock makes him the rightful side here. New users can score a bonus to use on tonight’s fight with the BetMGM promo code.

The Moicano vs Nolan odds frame this as a tightly contested lightweight clash, with the method markets telling the more interesting story. Moicano sits as a slight favorite at -125 while the rising Australian is at +105. Stripping out the vig puts the implied probabilities at 53.25% for Moicano and 46.75% for Nolan, which is close to a coin flip.
The method grid is where the separation shows. Moicano’s submission at +150 is the shortest price on his side of the board, while Nolan’s KO/TKO at +175 is the clear route for the challenger.
Neither decision prop is anywhere near those numbers, and the fight going the distance is out at +275 with the finish side at -417. The market is firmly expecting this to end early.
Moicano vs Nolan Best Prop Bets
- Best Prop Bet: Renato Moicano by Submission (+150 at BetMGM)
Moicano by submission is the sharpest tactical read on the board. His jiu-jitsu remains his bread and butter, and he got there most recently with a second-round submission of Chris Duncan in April.
Nolan is a tall fighter who throws heavy volume to keep opponents at bay. As he overextends on those combinations, Moicano will find the body lock or the double leg.
Once the fight hits the canvas, the veteran’s positional transitions are seamless. At +150 you are getting better than even money on what I think is the single likeliest finish in this fight.
If you want a second angle, Under 2.5 rounds is worth watching as a target rather than a recommendation. I would only take it at -125 or better, which is a target price, not the current odds.
