Lamar Jackson is expected to return for Baltimore in Week 8 after missing the Ravens’ previous three games. He practiced fully, and no injury/game designation is reported for him. His return is the relevant update—not a new injury concern.
Among the other featured players, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is out with a hamstring injury, and New York Jets running back Breece Hall is officially questionable with a quad issue. Saquon Barkley practiced on a limited basis, but no injury/game designation is reported for him. Do not describe Barkley as injured, questionable, or unavailable based on a missing designation.
Here are the reported statuses and a snapshot of the available betting lines. Odds can change; check the market again before wagering.
Week 8 NFL Injury Report: Key Players
Information in table is current as of 5:13 am ET, Nov. 1. Check SBD’s NFL odds page for the latest Week 8 lines.
BAL Ravens: Lamar Jackson (QB)
Jackson missed Baltimore’s three previous games and is expected back in Week 8. He practiced fully and has no injury/game designation reported. Treat this as a return update, not as evidence of a current game-time injury concern.
The Ravens visit the Buffalo Bills. The available odds snapshot lists Buffalo at -3 (-115) and Baltimore at +3 (-105), with the Bills at -172 on the moneyline and the Ravens at +145. Jackson’s return is relevant context, but the report alone does not establish how the line will move. Assuming the Ravens remain as underdogs, it would be the first time Baltimore was an underdog in a Jackson start since Week 1 of 2024.
PHI Eagles: Saquon Barkley (RB) and DeVonta Smith (WR)
Smith is out after missing practice with a hamstring injury. Barkley was limited in practice, but no injury/game designation is reported for him. Barkley has been in and out of the lineup for much of the season, so be cautious before wagering on his overs or putting him into your fantasy lineups.
Philadelphia is listed at +5.5 (-108) against Washington, with a +210 moneyline. Washington is -5.5 (-114) and -256 on the moneyline. Smith’s confirmed absence affects Philadelphia’s receiving options. Dontayvion Wicks is also ruled out.
NY Jets: Breece Hall (RB)
Hall is officially questionable after limited practice with a quad issue. That designation indicates uncertainty, but it does not confirm that he will sit. Check for a final status update before making a bet tied to his availability.
The Jets are -1.5 (-108) against the Las Vegas Raiders, with a -122 moneyline. Las Vegas is +1.5 (-111) and +100 on the moneyline.
Other Week 8 Injuries to Monitor
A.J. Brown is questionable after not practicing with an ankle issue for New England’s game against Miami. His status adds uncertainty to the Patriots’ receiving outlook; check for an update before kickoff.
Denver’s Jaylen Waddle is questionable with a chest issue after limited practice. The Broncos host Kansas City in Week 8, so monitor his availability ahead of that matchup.
Buffalo has two notable questionable players against Baltimore: wide receiver D.J. Moore (shoulder) and tight end Dalton Kincaid (chest), both limited in practice. Their availability could affect Josh Allen’s passing options, but neither designation confirms the player will be out.
Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. is out with a hamstring injury after not practicing, leaving a notable absence in the secondary against the Rams. Tennessee running back Tyjae Spears is also out (knee, DNP) against Cincinnati; Tony Pollard was listed with full participation and no game designation reported. Kansas City cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is questionable after limited practice with a personal designation ahead of the Denver game.
