  • Ohio visits Akron for Tuesday night college football on November 3.
  • The Bobcats and Zips are on opposite ends of the MAC standings.
  • Read below for my Tuesday MACtion picks, including a standout running back I am targeting in the anytime touchdown market.

The Mid-American Conference presents a tale of two vastly different seasons as the Ohio Bobcats hit the road to face the Akron Zips. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at InfoCision Stadium on ESPN2.

Ohio (6-2, 4-0 MAC) is perfect in conference play and riding a five-game winning streak. Akron is reeling from six straight losses and comes in off a bye.

This matchup pits a red-hot conference leader against a struggling home underdog. Let’s break down the Ohio vs Akron odds and find the best Tuesday MACtion picks for this midweek tilt.

Ohio vs Akron Prediction

  • Ohio vs Akron Prediction: Ohio -13.5 (-111) and Over 50.5 (-118 at BetMGM)

Ohio arrives with momentum after a 24-20 win over Eastern Michigan that clinched bowl eligibility. Quarterback Nick Poulos threw for 266 yards and a touchdown and added 22 rushing yards and a score on the ground.

Akron has dropped six straight, but its last outing showed offensive life. The Zips outgained Kent State 422-376 in a 35-20 loss and held a 17-14 lead before Kent State scored 21 unanswered points. Six of Akron’s seven losses have come by at least 15 points, including three of four MAC losses.

Ohio vs Akron Spread

TeamSpreadMoneylineTotal
Ohio-13.5 (-111)-526Over 50.5 (-118)
Akron+13.5 (-108)+400Under 50.5 (-102)

Odds as of November 3 from BetMGM.

The betting markets have established the visiting team as heavy favorites in this MAC matchup. You have to lay steep juice to back Ohio straight up at -526, which is why the -13.5 spread is the more practical way to back the favorite. The game total sits at 50.5, with the juice leaning toward the Over. Track how these numbers move with our college football odds.

A $10 bet on the heavily favored road team on the moneyline would return a modest profit of $1.90. That same $10 flyer on the underdog would net a $40 profit if Akron pulls off the surprise victory. Ohio vs Akron Tuesday MACtion Picks

Tuesday MACtion Pick #1: Ohio -13.5

  • Pick: Ohio -13.5 (-111 at BetMGM)

I am backing Ohio to cover the 13.5-point spread. Poulos is a focal point for moving the chains, beating Eastern Michigan through the air and on the ground, and he should control the tempo against a home team that has lost six straight.

In Ohio’s five-game winning streak, the Bobcats have three wins by at least 14 points. Two of their four MAC wins (Central Michigan and Sacramento State) have been by at least 14 points.

Tuesday MACtion Pick #2: Ohio vs Akron Over 50.5

  • Pick: Over 50.5 Total Points (-118 at BetMGM)

Both offenses feature playmakers capable of finding the end zone. Akron quarterback Brayden Roggow completed 20-of-34 passes for 275 yards against Kent State. On the other side, Ohio wide receiver Riley Neer had five catches for 56 yards against Eastern Michigan.

Ohio has a reasonable offense, scoring 29.6 points per game. The Bobcats have scored 30 points four times, including a season-best 48 against Sacramento State. Akron likely won’t help out much in the scoring column, but the Zips have scored 20 points in two of three games. I anticipate a score such as Ohio 35, Akron 17 or Ohio 34, Akron 20 to cash the over and Ohio on the spread.

Tuesday MACtion Pick #3: Jordan Gant Anytime Touchdown

  • Pick: Jordan Gant Anytime Touchdown Scorer

If you want an individual player edge, look no further than the Zips backfield. Jordan Gant is the backfield option I am targeting for Akron. He is my anytime touchdown target in the college football player props market, subject to checking the available price.

Gant has six rushing touchdowns this season, finding the end zone in four of the last five weeks. He punched in two touchdowns last week, tallying 180 total yards on 31 touches. Gant has at least 15 rush attempts and a catch in five straight games, giving him ample opportunity to score a touchdown.

Tuesday MACtion Pick #4: Ohio vs Akron Same Game Parlay

  • Pick: Ohio -13.5 + Over 50.5 + Nick Poulos Anytime Touchdown Scorer

For those looking to combine these angles, the game script supports a moderately high-scoring affair dominated by the road favorites. Poulos ran one in himself against Eastern Michigan, making him the potential third leg if the touchdown price makes the combination worthwhile.

While Poulos is not exactly reincarnated Barry Sanders, he has been a solid rushing threat for the Bobcats this season. He has a pair of rushing touchdowns in five games played.
