The Toledo Rockets visit the Sacramento State Hornets on Wednesday, November 4, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. Toledo (6-2, 3-1 MAC) arrives fresh off a 45-38 win over Western Michigan on October 24 and has had 11 days to prepare.

Sacramento State (2-7, 1-5 MAC) earned its first MAC win with a 31-10 victory over Kent State on Friday. The defense forced five turnovers, while freshman Isaiah Ene ran for 107 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries as the Hornets totaled 161 rushing yards.

The Hornets are also working on just five days of rest, the shortest turnaround in school history. Kalshi has contracts up on the moneyline, spread and total, and below I break down where I see value in this MACtion matchup.

Prediction: Toledo wins, and the game stays Under 52.5 points.

Toledo ranks 16th in the FBS at 37.4 points per game and has scored at least 34 points in seven of its last eight games. Quarterback John Alan Richter has thrown for 2,244 yards and 17 touchdowns with just two interceptions while completing 66.8% of his passes.

The Rockets also have a balanced ground game. CJ Miller (609 yards) and Connor Walendzak (424 yards) have each rushed for seven touchdowns, while Adjatay Dabbs leads the receivers with 592 yards and seven scores. First-year head coach Mike Jacobs has plenty of ways to move the ball.

Sacramento State’s path runs through defense and ball control. The Hornets held the ball for nearly 35 minutes against Kent State, and their 7-of-9 fourth-down stop rate leads the FBS. Still, they had forced only five turnovers before last week, so I expect Toledo to win.

Toledo is my predicted winner, but the Rockets cost 95¢ to win outright on Kalshi. That is well above the 75¢ entry point I wanted, so I am passing on the moneyline. My picks focus on the total and Toledo’s scoring, and I compare prices across prediction market apps before buying.

I originally targeted the Under on a total around 55 points. That number is not available, and Kalshi’s live total sits at 52.5, with No on the Over priced at 50¢. That leaves less cushion, but I still like the Under direction.

Sacramento State wants to run the ball and shorten the game, as it did with 42 rush attempts against Kent State. The Hornets scored 17 points in their previous game at Ball State, and their fourth-down defense can end drives before they turn into points.

The risk is that Toledo’s offense can push this total by itself. At a 50% implied probability, I need a slow, run-heavy game script, and that is exactly the formula Sacramento State used to beat Kent State.
