The League of Legends World Championship is truly an international phenomenon. The event has been held in six different countries over ten seasons including Sweden, Korea, Germany, China, France, and the United States.

Champions by Country

South Korea was the dominant force at the League of Legends World Championships from 2013 to 2017, winning five straight titles during that span.

However, their death grip on the Summoner’s Cup loosened for two years as Invictus Gaming emerged victorious in 2018 and FunPlus Phoenix won in 2019, with both teams residing from China. DWG KIA, formerly known as DAMWON Gaming, brought South Korea back in the winners circle in 2020, bringing their country total to six championships.
