The 2019 Major League Baseball season has yet to begin, but BetOnline has already made it abundantly clear which teams have little to no chance of achieving postseason glory. We’ve included the odds for all available teams below and will include data from additional sportsbooks as soon as they’re released.

2019 National League Playoff Odds

Oddsmakers expect the Dodgers to return to the postseason in 2019, and for good reason. Los Angeles has qualified for the playoffs in each of the past six seasons and is projected to win 93.5 games at BetOnline and Bovada.

BetOnline has very little faith in the Miami Marlins, whom it has pegged with -5000 odds to miss the playoffs. Derek Jeter’s squad lost 98 games in 2018 and finished 26.5 games behind the division-leading Atlanta Braves.

Few teams underwent a bigger makeover this offseason than the Phillies, who bolstered their lineup by acquiring former MVPs Bryce Harper and Andrew McCutchen, as well as proven All-Stars Jean Segura, JT Realmuto, and David Robertson. Their aggressive approach caught the attention of oddsmakers, who expect them to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

2019 American League Playoff Odds

The Astros may not win 100 games again this season, as they did in 2017 and 2018, but oddsmakers believe they’re a good bet to make the playoffs for the third straight year. Houston will be powered by a trio of top 10 MVP candidates in Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa, and Jose Altuve.

AL Playoff Odds at BetOnline

Seattle Mariners +700 -1500

Texas Rangers +2500 -5000
Toronto Blue Jays +900 -1800

BetOnline is quite bullish on the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros, and New York Yankees in the American League. The Astros, who won their first World Series in franchise history in 2017, have the shortest odds of all to make the playoffs at -1500.

AL Playoff Odds by Division

The Red Sox won 108 games last year en route to their fourth World Series title since 2004 and they still opened with longer odds to reach the postseason than the Yankees. It should be fascinating to watch these two goliaths go toe to toe in 2019.
