  • In an era when virtually all sporting events and most human engagement has halted, sportsbooks are now offering weather betting
  • What are the most worthwhile maximum and minimum temperatures to bet on throughout North America?
  • Check out the odds below, the over/under for maximums/ minimums, and my pick

Apparently, weather betting is how some people are going to satisfy that gambling itch during the coronavirus pandemic.

Perhaps this will result in a wave of meteorologists who have never gambled hopping into the fray. Perhaps it will merely be a means of placating existing sports gamblers while every bettable sports league is on hold. Whatever the case, normative ice breakers are now something you can bet on. I’m here for it.

I’m looking to make some selections on both the max and min side just for variety’s sake.

Turning Up The Heat

Add some excitement to looking out your window tomorrow. Add some extra seasoning to peeping morning TV news on March 18th. I am certainly afforded opportunities to write about some unique things especially in the current social climate and circumstances. I think somewhere in my five years of radio broadcasting, whereby I had to do full weather forecasts frequently, I’ve developed some keen senses on this. I’m going to do my best to guide you to a better outcome than this guy below had.

Chicago Will Be Chilly

It’s looking like Chicago is living up to its moniker of “The Windy City” tomorrow. There seems to be a pronounced chill in the air as a breeze will be piercing through.

Also, the fact that it’s raining over the next couple days will compound the cold that much more, especially so in tomorrow’s purported highs and lows. Take the under for minimum temperature in Chicago.

Meanwhile, Up North

Since I frequent the greater Toronto area, I can provide some localized insight into things. It has been chilly as of late and, based on current trends, I have chosen to go with the under on the line for Toronto’s minimum temperature tomorrow.

Also basing things on current trends, I’m taking the over for max temperature in Vancouver. I can certainly attest to how it can get rainy and cool out west, but it appears to be hovering around the 14 mark over the course of the next couple of days. Those are your March 18th weather bets.

Pick: Min. temperature in Toronto, Ont, on March 18th: Under 3 Degrees Celsius  (-180)

Pick: Max. temperature in Vancouver, BC, on March 18th: Over 12 Degree Celsius (+100)

Pick: Min. temperature in Chicago, IL, on March 18th: Under 42 Degrees Fahrenheit (-260)
