Paul vs Fury Betting Analysis

The line for this one not going the distance is informed by a couple of factors. For Paul, him going the distance is informed by the idea that perhaps in fighting his most experienced boxing-focused opponent, his big right hand might not land as readily as in earlier fights.

For Fury, this idea of him going the distance is more so rooted in not having as high of an overall finishing rate as ‘The Problem Child’.

This is a contest that I do see encroaching to that final bell. I see value in pursuing a prop bet on this contest going the distance.

Pick: Yes (-125)

Paul vs Fury Props  – Winning Method

Outcome Odds
Jake Paul by Decision or Technical Decision +200
Jake Paul by KO, TKO, or DQ +230

Tommy Fury by Decision or Technical Decision +450
Tommy Fury by KO, TKO, or DQ +250

KO Odds Favor Paul

The combat sports disruptor winning via KO is backed up by four KO’s across six pro wins. Even in fights he doesn’t score an outright KO in, Paul has at least been able to garner a knockdown ala his Anderson Silva bout.

Fury’s fifty percent stoppage rate across eight pro wins is why this is a slightly less favored path to victory for him.

I think Paul has shown a modicum of preternatural power in his strikes and has refined it fight to fight. That being said, the older age of many of Paul’s opponents created a diminished speed/ athleticism to allow Paul the space to land those shots/ not allow those fighters to be as defensively responsible.

I foresee a guy with the fighting lineage and relative youth of Fury behind him to be optimally prepared with his gas tank and should be able to pick apart Paul enough to earn a points win thoughtfully.

Pick: Tommy Fury via decision (+450)

When Does Paul vs Fury End?

I ultimately see Fury winning on points so an over-under bet could present good value to prospective bettors.

Entertaining the idea Fury could close the show though, I don’t see it happening within the first three rounds. Despite some of the pre-fight banter, I can see Fury exercising a certain level of respect for Paul’s power. At least to collect early intel so Fury can land his most optimized offense himself.

Some do see a stoppage win for Fury but they also bare the same surname coincidentally.

I think if Fury were to get it done though, the stoppage would come by a volume-heavy approach and a TKO victory in either the fifth or sixth round.

Pick: Tommy Fury Rounds 5-6 (+1100)
