The Week 9 college football schedule continues Friday night. As schedules get tougher, the college football player props market is where I am hunting for value, with tempo, game script and workload set to dictate the action.
My focus is on passing volume and backfield usage across three matchups. In Orlando, Baylor visits a UCF offense that hangs 32.7 points per game, while Tulane looks to regroup at Charlotte and Kent State travels west to face Sacramento State.
Rather than chase a single quoted number, I list a target price for each play so you know where the value ends. Here are my Friday CFB player props, including the best prop bets for Week 9.

Trace Johnson’s touchdown prop is the standout because my target requires plus money on a quarterback with real passing volume. Both yardage overs sit above season pace, so they rely on recent usage and matchup volume rather than long-term averages. Lines can vary by operator, so compare prices across the top college football betting apps before you bet.
Best College Football Prop Bets for Week 9
CFB Prop Pick #1: Trace Johnson Over 1.5 Passing TDs
- Pick: Trace Johnson Over 1.5 Passing TDs (target +140 or better)
Johnson is coming off a rough outing. In last Saturday’s 42-19 loss to UTSA, he went 24-of-44 for 265 yards with two interceptions and no touchdown passes as Tulane turned the ball over six times. The turnovers ended drives before Tulane could finish them.
The volume is what I like. Forty-four attempts show Tulane is willing to put the game in Johnson’s hands, and cleaner execution against Charlotte should turn more of those drives into touchdowns instead of giveaways. At +140 or better, two touchdown passes is a reasonable bounce-back ask. New users can sign up with the bet365 promo code and score a bonus to bet on tonight’s game.
CFB Prop Pick #2: Isaiah Ene Over 54.5 Rushing Yards
- Pick: Isaiah Ene Over 54.5 Rushing Yards (target -115 or better)
Sacramento State hosts Kent State at Hornet Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT, ESPN2). Isaiah Ene has 303 rushing yards on 58 carries through eight games, so this line sits above his season pace. The case for the over is recent usage.
Ene has cleared this number in each of his last two games, posting 59 and 57 yards. That includes 57 yards on just 10 carries in the 34-17 loss to Ball State. At 5.2 yards per carry for the season, he does not need a heavy workload; 11 or 12 carries at his average puts him right in range. If the Hornets keep the game competitive and stay committed to the run, the over at -115 or better is playable.
CFB Prop Pick #3: Josh Derry Over 56.5 Receiving Yards
- Pick: Josh Derry Over 56.5 Receiving Yards (target -115 or better)
UCF averages 32.7 points, 207 passing yards and 163.3 rushing yards per game, and Josh Derry is a central piece of that passing attack with 34 catches for 358 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback stability helps, too. Keyone Jenkins has thrown for 1,099 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions, and he has been cleared from a concussion and will start Friday.
Volume is the argument here. With 34 receptions already, Derry is a reliable chain-mover, and a handful of intermediate catches gets him past this number. The Knights are coming off a 39-31 double-overtime win over National Championship odds contender BYU, while Baylor has dropped recent games to TCU (17-6) and Kansas (25-24). I want UCF to keep Derry involved early against Baylor; his established receiving volume is the reason to target the over at -115 or better.
