2015 American Music Awards Odds

Get ready for the music industry’s biggest awards show after the Grammys, the CMA Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards, and the VH1 Biggies. The American Music Awards are coming to a TV near you on November 22, 2015.

Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd lead the pack with the most nominations, and all three will be battling it out with seven other hopefuls for Artist of the Year. While the category is crowded with musical heavyweights like Sam Smith and Nicki Minaj, the race really boils down to two contenders: Taylor Swift and One Direction. Both are undefeated in this category when nominated, so someone’s streak is about to end. On the plus side, if Taylor Swift loses, we can pretty much guarantee another rage-filled hit single from her next year.

One of the tightest races this year will be in the Favorite Male Artist category. Sam Smith has had an incredible year (you know you’ve made it big when you get a Bond song), but Ed Sheeran has also been one of the biggest artists in 2015, proving once and for all that gingers do have souls – or, at least, soul.

Another group to watch this year is Best New Artist. Although rapper Fetty Wap made a lot of noise in 2015, latecomer The Weeknd has been dominating, claiming the top three spots on the Billboard Hot R&B charts with three different hits. There’s a good chance he won’t be leaving empty handed.
