This election cycle has been a godsend for Saturday Night Live. It seems like every four years, SNL teeters on the brink of death. People start talking about the “good ol’ days” when the cast was stacked and the skits were funny. The Saturday Night Dead jokes start to roll in and we all begin to wonder if the four-decade old franchise is coming to an end.

Then, an election year hits, and SNL bursts into gear with biting satire and political impersonations. The ratings skyrocket and the bump gives them enough momentum to last another four years.

This season has had its fair share of high-profile guests. From Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda to Tom Hanks to (next week’s) Dave Chappelle. Since this is such a big season for them, it makes sense to try to bring in some huge names.

It got me thinking — who’s next?

With the election of Donald Trump, I’m going to assume they’re going to want to do more Trump skits. What better way than to, once again, bring Alec Baldwin on as host? He has already hosted the show 16 times, more than anyone else in SNL history. So why not bring him back once more.

Or maybe Jon Stewart is an option. He left the Daily Show right as Trump announced his run for the presidency and hasn’t said much since. I assume he has a lot of thoughts on the matter, and I know that people are dying to hear them. He’s been gone for too long and the spotlight beckons.

And then there’s the classic duo — Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, both legends of SNL in their own right. In this election year, the two would make great hosts, together or individually. Guest hosting Weekend Update would give the segment a much needed boost.

If you want a longshot, how about Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton?

Both are reeling from a terrible defeat, and what’s a better cure than laughter? Besides, they’re both going to have a lot of spare time on their hands very soon.

Odds to Host SNL Season 42 (Episode 7):

Alec Baldwin: 3/2

Jon Stewart: 4/1

Tina Fey: 17/3

Amy Poehler: 17/3

Barack Obama: 49/1

Hillary Clinton: 99/1
