  • ESEA Global Challenge Season 32 starts December 14 in Dallas
  • Can forZe make it two in a row?
  • Other threats to keep an eye on in Texas

The ESEA Global Challenge Season 32, is set to take place in Dallas from December 14-15, and will see eight teams battle it out for the $25,000 prize for first place. The tournament will follow a two-group, double elimination format with both best of one and best of three series being played.

forZe head into the ESEA Global Challenge as the slight favorite over their Finnish neighbors, HAVU, after some pretty impressive performances over the past few months. Are the Russians worth taking a good look at to come out on top in Texas? Or is there a better option that offers more value than the tournament favorites?

A forZe to Be Reckoned With?

Coming off of a hot few months for the Russian side, it’s no surprise that forZe are the favorites heading into the ESEA Global Challenge Season 32. They managed to take the first seed in the CIS Qualifier for the Berlin Major just a few months back, placed second at Blast Pro Series Moscow, and most recently hoisted the trophy at Dreamhack Open Winter.

With the recent success of the squad led by the monstrous performances of xsepower and almazer, the Russians have slotted themselves into the conversation as a top-3 team in the CIS region. They without a doubt deserve the spot at the top of the odds table, and I would say out of any of the teams at the ESEA Global Challenge Season 32, they stand the best chance of coming out on the other side with another tournament win.

The Battle for Second Place

Since I think it’s very likely that forZe ends up taking home first place, it’s time to take a look at what teams offer the best chance of meeting the Russians in the final. I would say there are three teams that I would consider to be the second team in the finals, and I would say the likelihood would be in this order; Team Spirit, HAVU, and INTZ.

Team Spirit is the best bet to reach the final of ESEA Global Challenge Season 32, and are one of the two teams in attendance that I could see possibly beating forZe. They have been a mainstay in the CIS region for quite some time, and have shown on many occasions that they can compete with the best in tier-2/3 CS, and sometimes even play tier-1 teams close with their most notable win coming over Liquid, during their incredible run in the first half of 2019.

The second team I would suggest looking at would be the all-Finnish side, HAVU. They are coming into the ESEA Global Challenge Season 32, with the second seed from EU and have shown they are more than capable of competing for the title at any tier-2/3 event.

The Finns have found wins over both forZe and Team Spirit in the recent months, and can realistically walk away with the title this time around in Texas. They are one of the three teams that I think even has a chance at winning the ESEA Global Challenge, and should be seriously considered to reach the final.

The last team I could see reaching the final, INTZ, is a longshot but the Brazilians could definitely turn some heads in Dallas. Their team is comprised of players that have been staples in the tier-2 NA scene for years, headed by boltz, who has actually won titles at tier-1 tournaments when he played for SK Gaming, now MiBR.

They stand a punchers chance in Dallas, but like I said before they are more of a longshot pick. I would consider either Spirit or HAVU over the Brazilian boys, but if you’re looking for a riskier pick that offers more value, then INTZ may be worth taking a look at.

Picks: forZe (-250) / Team Spirit (+150)
