LCK Playoffs Semifinal - DWG Kia and T1
After settling on a starting five, T1 won six straight series to close out the regular season. T1 will look to do the same in their semifinal matchup against Gen.G.
  • The LCK 2021 Spring Playoff Semifinals take place on April 3rd and 4th
  • T1 and Hanwha Life Esports won their quarterfinal matchups to advance to the semifinals
  • DWG KIA are massive favorites over Hanwha Life Esports. Read below for analysis on both semifinal matchups

The LCK Spring Playoffs semifinals have arrived T1, and Hanwha Life Esports advanced out of the quarterfinals and will play Gen.G and DWG KIA respectively. DWG KIA are -834 favorites over Hanwha Life Esports after dominating the LCK Spring Regular Season with a 16-2 series record. They’re also the current favorites to win the 2021 League of Legends World Championship.

DWG KIA vs Hanwha Life Esports

In the quarterfinals, we got the expected results as both Hanwha Life Esports and T1 advanced to the LCK Spring Playoffs semifinals. Hanwha Life Esports were favored over Nongshim Red Force, but it took them all five games to close out the series. Nongshim was the sixth and final seed in the LCK playoffs and only managed a 7-11 series record during the regular season.

Considering their record, Nongshim put up a great fight against Hanwha Life. Even though Hanwha Life was able to move on, their next opponent is much tougher competition. Hanwha Life opened at +1400 to win the LCK Playoffs.

DWG KIA are the reigning World Champions and had the best record in the LCK Spring Regular Season as they went 16-2. Unfortunately for Hanwha Life, neither of those two losses came by their hands. They went 0-2 against DWG KIA and only managed to take a single game.

As the top seed in the LCK Playoffs, DWG KIA got to select their semi-final opponent. They chose Hanwha Life Esports and now have an entire regular season and best-of-five playoff matchup to use as preparation.

DWG KIA have a huge advantage, and even at -834, you should stick with the 2020 World Champs. The real question is if this series will be a 3-0 sweep. I believe that DWG KIA quickly disposes of Hanwha Life Esports, as they lock up their spot in the finals.

Pick: DWG KIA -2.5 (+110), Under 3.5 +135

Gen.G vs T1

Of the two LCK Spring Playoffs semifinal matchups, this is the one you’ll want to tune into. Gen.G has been fairly sturdy all season long, which earned them a second place finish in the regular season. T1 struggled to find a starting roster as the season went on. Finally, in Week 8, T1 settled on a veteran starting five, and they proceeded to go on a six series winning streak. That winning streak included a 2-0 win over Gen.G three weeks ago.

T1 continued that momentum in the quarterfinals against DRX. The first two games were very highly contested and could have gone either way. After DRX and T1 both took a game, T1 cleanly locked up the final two games and advanced to the semis.

The big selling point to Gen.G’s power was their victory over DWG KIA two weeks ago. They’ve beaten every team in the LCK, but they are susceptible to losses against the stronger teams in the league. T1 just happens to fall into that category.

I’m always a fan of sticking with the hot team. As strong of a team as Gen.G is, they’re running into a T1 squad that has done nothing but win over the past month. They’ve finally figured things out, and I like their value as the underdogs. It’s going to be a slugfest, but I’ll take T1  in their LCK Spring Playoffs semifinals matchup.

Pick: T1 (-125), O 4.5 (+145)
