The 2021 League of Legends World Championship is down to the final four teams. The LCK completely dominated in the LoL Worlds 2021 quarterfinals as DWG KIA, T1, and Gen.G all swept their opponents to advance to the semifinals. Edward Gaming is the last team standing outside of the LCK, and the first seed out of the LPL are favorites entering their semifinal match against Gen.G.
DWG KIA are -250 moneyline favorites in the LoL Worlds 2021 semifinal odds to beat T1 and clinch a spot in the finals. In the Gen.G vs Edward Gaming odds, EDG are -205 favorites to win and +105 at -1.5.

DWG KIA vs T1
The first semifinal match features the top two seeds of the LCK, DWG KIA vs T1. These teams are no strangers to playing each other, as they met in the LCK Summer Finals where DWG KIA won 3-1. However, prior to that T1 picked up a 2-1 win over DWG KIA in the LCK Summer regular season. T1 is more than capable of picking up wins over their LCK rivals. The issue is that DWG KIA has yet to drop a single game at LoL Worlds 2021.
They went 6-0 through the group stage and then dispatched MAD Lions 3-0 in the quarterfinals. Although DWG KIA were impressive across the board, the stand out player was ‘Canyon’, who seemed to make the perfect play whether the team was playing from ahead or behind. MAD Lions were scrappy, but DWG KIA showed their superior macro play and strategy as they repeatedly found game-changing fights.
T1 has nearly been as flawless as DWG KIA at LoL Worlds 2021. Their lone blemish was a loss to Edward Gaming in the group stage. Aside from that, T1 is also undefeated as they swept Hanwha Life Esports in the quarterfinals. T1 really didn’t struggle at all against HLE, as they won two of the three games in under 30 minutes.
It’s possible that T1 is currently the second best team in the tournament. However, how can you bet against the undefeated DWG KIA, who also happen to be the reigning World Champions. They are currently the odds-on favorite in the LoL Worlds 2021 odds, which is why DWG KIA is so heavily favored in their semifinal matchup. I’m taking the LCK champs when DWG KIA vs T1 goes down.

Gen.G vs Edward Gaming
Prior to the tournament, it would have been a surprise to learn that only one LPL team has qualified for the semifinals, but that’s the world we currently live in. Part of that was caused by an epic best-of-five between two LPL squads, Edward Gaming and RNG, in the quarterfinals. This is the first time that Edward Gaming has surpassed the quarterfinals at a World Championship.
Edward Gaming had the least convincing quarterfinal performance of the four remaining teams, but they had the perceived toughest opponent. In the semifinals, it’ll be Gen.G vs Edward Gaming. Cloud9 was eliminated by Gen.G in the quarters as all three LCK teams swept their opponents, but Gen.G really struggled in the group stage. They finished 3-3 in the group and were forced into a four-way tiebreaker. They would eventually go on to win that group, however, they’re viewed as the weakest of the four group winners.
For Edward Gaming, this could actually be an easier opponent than who they faced in the quarterfinals. The current LPL champions will likely look to exploit their advantage in the top lane, as ‘Xiaohu’ has been a force all tournament. I’d expect a fairly convincing Edward Gaming win over Gen.G as the heavy favorite in the Lol Worlds 2021 semifinal odds.
