  • Sahith Theegala leads the Sanderson Farms Championship by one shot over four golfers
  • 15 golfers are within four shots of the lead in a jam packed leaderboard

Through three rounds, Sahith Theegala has shot 18-under-par after rounds of 64-67-67 to open up a slim one shot edge over four golfers, including Sam Burns. Prior to the event, Burns was the favorite to claim his second PGA Tour victory of the year, and he’s in the driver’s seat to win his second trophy of 2021. Theegala has never won on the grandest stage, but he enters the last day with an opportunity to be the seventh first-time winner in the last eight years of the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Should he stumble, Burns, Cameron Tringale, Denny McCarthy and Cameron Young are poised to pounce, as they’re just a stroke behind. Apart from Burns, who won the Valspar Championship earlier this year, none of those players have tasted victory on the PGA Tour, which should make the final round very exciting.

Read on to see the updated odds and the best bets heading into Sunday’s final round.

Sam Burns The Favorite To Come Out On Top

With apologies to leader Sahith Theegala and the three golfers tied alongside Sam Burns for second, there is a clear cut favorite heading into Sunday. Burns has had plenty of opportunities to win this year, taking home the Valspar Championship and finishing runner-up in a pair of other tournaments. For most of the other players, with the exception of Cameron Tringale, this will be their first real opportunity to get into the winners circle.

Through 54 holes, Burns is first in greens in regulation (48 of 54) and first in strokes gained tee-to-green. He’s gained over seven strokes on his competitors approaching the green for the week, and he’s got so much more pedigree. Despite his odds being so low at +275, he’s head and shoulders above his competition.

2021 Sanderson Farms Championship Best Live Value Picks

  1. Aaron Wise (+1800): Like Sam Burns, Aaron Wise has a victory to his credit on the PGA Tour, at the 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson. He will start just three behind, and he’s first in strokes gained around the green through three days. Wise is also second in SG: tee-to-green, picking up nearly eight shots to the field in that category. With some many players having not been in contention throughout their career, a player from back in the pack like Wise is a good candidate to win.
  2. Corey Conners (+2500): Canadian Corey Conners has won on the tour once, at the 2019 Valero Texas Open. He’s known for being an incredible ball striker, as he ranked eighth in SG: off-the-tee and 12th tee-to-green last season. He will begin four shots behind. Conners shot 70 or better in four of his last five Sunday’s to end the 2021 PGA Tour season, and when he won in Texas, he shot 66 to grab the title.
