The Presidents Cup is back, this time being contested on American soil, and Team USA are heavy favorites over the Internationals. It’s being contested at famed Medinah Country Club, which is in a suburb near Chicago, Illinois, a course that hosted the 2012 Ryder Cup and two PGA Championships won by Tiger Woods. Team USA has historically dominated the biennial event and it would be shocking should a loaded USA squad not emerge victorious for the 14th time in 16 attempts.

It’s really hard to poke holes in the States’ game and see a way how they’ll lose over the course of four days. It would be fascinating for an actual close competition, after the last two iterations have been blowouts. However, it’s darn near impossible to think the Internationals can hang in. Eleven of the twelve USA players are in the top-30, and the only one outside of it (Jackson Koivun), burst onto the scene and won in his third career PGA Tour start as a professional to prove he’s a phenom. The Internationals have just four top-30 golfers.

The United States has much more depth than the International team along with winning pedigree. In addition, this is a home game for Team USA, so the crowd will be boisterous and loud early. There’s next to no value on them, but at -400, it’s the only play to make.
