  • The RBC Heritage from Hilton Head, South Carolina tees off Thursday, April 13th
  • Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler are +800 co-favorites to win the designated event
  • Below, see the RBC Heritage odds to win, plus picks and the best-value bets

After Jon Rahm won the Masters for his second career major title, the PGA Tour heads to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage. Typically this event is unable to attract a ton of star power a week after the Masters, but with it being a designated event, most of the big names are teeing it up. Rory McIlroy and Will Zalatoris, however, have withdrawn from competition. The winners share has gone up from $1.44 million in 2022 to $3.6M this year.

Harbour Town Golf Links is a tree-lined course with the tiniest greens on the PGA Tour, so accuracy and precision are more at a premium than a lot of other golf tournaments. Last year, Jordan Spieth defeated Patrick Cantlay in a playoff. Eight of the last ten iterations of this championship have resulted in either a one stroke victory or a playoff was required to determine a champion.

Max Homa Sporting Solid Value

Despite winning twice on the PGA Tour this season, Max Homa has +3000 odds to win outright, which is longer than the top-eleven players on the board. He had a pedestrian Masters, but before that, Homa was T-6th at the Players Championship and two starts prior, was runner-up at Riviera.

Max Homa’s Strokes Gained Stats Last 24 Rounds

Approach Total Tee-To-Green Putting Ball Striking Short Game

Homa has been fantastic in several key ‘strokes gained’ categories for the campaign. The six-time winner is third in total strokes gained, fifth approaching the green, sixth tee-to-green, and ninth in putting. Add it all up, and you’re getting him at solid +3000 value to take home the famed tartan jacket.

2023 RBC Heritage Picks and Value Bets

  1. Shane Lowry (+3000): Shane Lowry was on the periphery of contention at Augusta National before settling for a top-20. He’s had strong success at the Heritage, with a pair of third place showings and another top-10 in his last four outings. In his last twelve spins around this track, he’s first in strokes gained: approach, second in total strokes gained, and third in SG: tee-to-green and ball striking.
  2. Sahith Theegala (+6500): Sahith Theegala has carried over his stellar rookie form in his sophomore season, as he comes in having posted a top-10 at the Masters. In half of his last six stroke play starts, he’s put up a top-10, including other designed events at Torrey Pines (T-4th), and Riviera (T-6th).
  3. Webb Simpson (+8000): After a prolonged slump, Webb Simpson returned to form in his latest tournament, finishing T-7th at the Valspar. He won this event in 2020, and has also been a runner-up. In all, he has eight top-25’s in 13 starts at Harbour Town. He’ll be an interesting name in the top 10/20 markets.
