- The US Open tees off from Pebble Beach on Thursday, June 13th
- Tiger Woods is in search of career major title #16
- There are plenty of prop bets to wager on for the three-time US Open champ
The third major of the season is upon us and Tiger Woods returns to Pebble Beach, the scene of his historic demolition over the field in the 2000 US Open where he won by a whopping 15 strokes.
This US Open will be hotly contested with a number of big names playing great golf heading into the event. Woods, meanwhile, will be looking to shake off a missed cut in his previous major, the PGA Championship.
Tiger Woods’ Finish Odds
Tiger Woods’ Finish | Yes Odds | No Odds |
---|---|---|
Top 5 | +300 | -400 |
Top 10 | +125 | -155 |
Top 20 | -175 | +145 |
*Odds taken 06/12/19
Aside from his missed cut at Bethpage Black for the PGA, Woods has been in the hunt deep into the back nine of his previous three majors, finishing T-6 at the Open Championship, second at last year’s PGA, and of course winning the Masters this year. Wagering on the Big Cat to finish outside the top 20 is fool’s gold considering the odds aren’t even that great.
A thing of beauty. 😍

The two times he’s competed at Pebble Beach (for the US Open), he had the aforementioned historic 15 shot bulldoze through the field, and in 2010, he was close to winning as well, settling for a fourth place result, so it’s quite likely he’ll be in the mix again for at least a top-10.

Pebble Beach does not demand massive drives, putting a premium more on finding fairways to avoid the deep rough and hitting greens to avoid the lush cabbage. This season Woods is 13th in strokes gained approaching the green and eighth in SG: around the green, which bodes well at Pebble Beach. Picking a top-5 is tricky but still the worthwhile wager.
Picks: Yes to all three (+300, +125, -175)
Tiger Woods 1st Round Leader Odds
Will Woods Lead After 1st Round? | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | +1800 |
No | -5000 |
If you’re banking on Tiger winning the event, his past US Open success might shine a light on whether he’ll be on top after day one. In two of his three career US Open titles (2000, 2002), he was the outright leader after the opening round, with the 2008 Open at Torrey Pines the lone exception.
Asked about his father’s prediction that he would someday win 14 majors, Tiger Woods smiled.
“It feels good to prove him wrong.”

Woods hasn’t been leading after the 1st round in any of his seven stroke play events this season, and in fact hasn’t even shot in the 60’s either. Given that fact, along with him being 68th in first round scoring average this season, the best bet is clear.
Pick: No (-5000)
Tiger Woods Cut Odds
Will Tiger Woods Make the Cut? | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | -500 |
No | +350 |
Tiger has only missed consecutive cuts in majors in 2015 throughout his illustrious career, when he missed three in a row while battling a number of injuries. Fully expect Tiger to put that bad result at Bethpage Black in the rear-view mirror and easily make the cut this go around.
Pick: Yes (-500)
