I was a week too early in predicting Andrew Novak to win on the PGA Tour, where he won the VidantaWorld Mexico Open, and not in Bermuda like I’d predicted the tournament before. This week, it’s another event contested in Mexico, which is the World Wide Technology Championship. Ben Griffin returns as defending champion, and he’s the second choice to lift the trophy, behind Ryan Gerard.
El Cardonal is the venue for the tournament, and this course yields plenty of birdies, with scores of 27, 24 and 29 under par being posted by the eventual champion in the three years hosting the tournament.

I’m starting my card this week with Mackenzie Hughes, who is coming off a brilliant performance at the VidantaWorld Mexico Open, which resulted in a tied for fourth position. The two-time PGA Tour winner has placed inside the top-30 in four of the last five times teeing it up, and T-7th here in 2023.
In addition, since I’m always searching out value in the markets, the Canadian is listed at +4500, which is longer odds than the top-19 players on the betting board this week.

World Wide Technology Championship 2026 Picks & Value Bets
- Neal Shipley +4900 at DraftKings: Neal Shipley had back-to-back fantastic tournaments at the Biltmore Championship and Back of Utah Championship. He very nearly won Biltmore, where he wound up T-3rd, after holding the 54 hole lead. He followed that up with a T-10th in Utah, and had a solid showing in Bermuda too, followed by a top-20 last week in Mexico. I’m going back to the well on him after selecting Shipley to win the VidantaWorld Mexico Open, and at +4900, he’s got a solid price tag.
- Denny McCarthy +6700: Denny McCarthy is due to finally break through on the main circuit, having finished runner-up in 2023 and 2024, both of which came in playoffs. He’s been playing solid, if unspectacular golf, with four straight top-30s, so I’m quite content getting him at this value price of +6700 to finally break through.
- Erik van Rooyen +10000: I love this number for a past champion, as Erik van Rooyen walked away with the title in 2023. He also brings some form into this event, having finished T-6th at the recently completed VidantaWorld Mexico Open.
- Garrick Higgo +12000: Two-time PGA Tour winner Garrick Higgo has had fantastic success at this golf course, finishing T-6th in 2024 and T-4th a year ago. That tournament saw him lead entering the final round. While winning might be a stretch, since he’s not been firing on all cylinders, he’ll be intriguing to monitor in the top 5/10/20 markets.
