Odds as of July 23rd.

Brooks Has Shined Against the Best

Last time out, Brooks held second place Doosan to two runs over eight inning en route to a 4-2 victory. The previous start before that he limited third place Kiwoom to three runs over six-plus innings in a win, and prior to that he shined versus league-leading NC.

Brooks held the Dinos to just four hits and one run over seven innings, while striking out six. He’s given up more than three runs in just one start this season, and leads the KBO in hard hit rate allowed.

Samsung had been playing well winning four of six before losing in extra innings to NC on Tuesday, but none of those four wins came against a pitcher with an ERA below 4.82. The last time they faced a similar calibre pitcher to Brooks, they managed just four hits and one run in six innings versus Lotte’s Dan Straily.

Pick: KIA Tigers -1.5 (-105)

Doosan Dominates Woo Chan Cha

The defending champion Bears have won three straight entering play Friday, scoring 20 runs along the way. They rank first in hits per game and second in runs, and will look to rough up LG’s Woo Chan Cha for the third time in just over a month.

Two weeks ago, they lit him up for seven runs in just over four innings, and back on June 19th, they chased him from the game in the second inning after crossing the plate eight times.

Doosan will counter with Hui Kwan Yu, who’s had his share of problems recently as well. The left-hander has allowed 20 runs in his last five outings, which makes the over an enticing play. The Twins offense is by no means elite, but they do average over six runs per game on the road and scored nine times versus KT Wiz on Tuesday.

Pick: Over 11 (-110)

Lotte and Kiwoom Stay Under

The Lotte Giants are one of the league’s lowest scoring teams, something that’s been on display in their recent meetings with the Kiwoom Heroes. Three of the last four matchups between the two teams have stayed under the total, including both in which Kiwoom’s Won Tae Choi has started.

Choi comes in on two weeks rest and has allowed just four runs in over 12 innings or work versus Lotte this season.

The Heroes offense meanwhile, has hit a bit of slump recently, averaging just 4.4 runs over their last 10 games. They’ll face Se Woong Park on Thursday, who hasn’t allowed more than three runs in any of his last four starts, and didn’t allow a single earned run to powerhouse Doosan two outings ago.

Pick: Under 10 (-110)
