The Los Angeles Dodgers (38-22) and Arizona Diamondbacks (32-27) continue their series at Chase Field Tuesday night at 6:40 PM PT / 9:40 PM ET. In their previous matchup, the Diamondbacks came away with a 4-1 victory. Despite that triumph, the MLB odds have installed LA as the favorites to knot this series up at one game apiece.

Dodgers vs Diamondbacks Picks & Best Bets

Despite Los Angeles scoring the third most runs in baseball, and Arizona a top-half ball club in the same category, I’m siding with the under 9.5 total runs in this one. In a whopping 14 of the last 17 meetings between these two rivals, nine or fewer total runs have been scored.

In ten of LA’s last 13 affairs, the under 9.5 runs total has been the play, and that is the exact same scenario for Arizona.

As for my fave player prop, I’m going back to my winning selection from Monday’s battle, which is Shohei Ohtani over 1.5 total bases. He had three hits in the last meeting, and has at least a pair of hits in eight of his last 15 contests.

Starting Pitchers Statistics

The MLB probable pitchers shows that Eric Lauer earned a victory in his lone start with LA, holding hitters to a .190 average with a phenomenal 0.83 WHIP. There is cause for concern, however, that he just came to LA because he pitched to a ghastly 6.69 ERA with the Blue Jays this season, leading to him being dealt to the Dodgers.

Mike Soroka brings a much larger track record. Through 61.0 innings, he has compiled an impressive 7-2 record with an elite 2.85 FIP. Soroka demonstrates excellent command, generating 8.85 strikeouts per nine innings while limiting walks to a 2.07 BB/9 rate.
