Hazers Poised to Claim Marbula One Title

After claiming the No. 2 spot on the starting grid for the Hazers in last weekend’s Razzway Grand Prix, Smoggy dominated for the most of the afternoon, leading the way for nine of the race’s 10 laps to take home the checkered flag. The victory handed the Hazers their fourth trip to the podium this season, and lifts the team into top spot in Marbula One Team Championship standings going into the eighth and final race of the inaugural Marbula One campaign, 14 points up on the second-place Savage Speeders.

Despite their recent dominance, the Hazers have plenty of company atop the Midnight Grand Prix odds, where they are joined at +800 by this weekend’s home team, the Midnight Wisps, and the fast-rising O’rangers.

Midnight Wisps Enjoy Home Track Advantage

Currently lagging in 11th place in the Marbula One Team Championship Standings, the Midnight Wisps have shown signs of a turnaround in recent outings. The Wisps are coming off a fourth-place finish last weekend, but have also finished out of the points on four occasions so far this season. However, the Wisps could enjoy a benefit from racing on their home track in Sunday’s running of the Midnight Bay Grand Prix, which sports bettors can catch on Jelle’s Marble Runs YouTube channel.

According to images leaked on Twitter, the track at Midnight Bay could possibly feature a hair-raising stretch of four straight hairpin turns as well as a sizeable gap that competing marbles will have to jump on each lap to remain in the race.

O’rangers, Savage Speeders in the Hunt

Orangin turned in another standout performance for the O’rangers at the Razzway Grand Prix, storming to a second-place finish while also recording the fastest lap. The reserve member of the O’rangers has made a name for itself in the first season of Marbula One action, earning the win three weeks ago at the Greenstone Grand Prix, and joins Rapidly of the Savage Speeders as the only marble to record multiple top-two finishes this season.

The Savage Speeders were toppled from their perch atop the Marble One team Championship Standings with Rapidly’s disappointing seventh-place finish. However, the Marble League’s first-ever champions have otherwise produced consistent results this season, finishing in the top five on four occasions this season. The Speeders have also made steady gains in qualifying as the season has progressed, starting from the second row in each of the past two races after qualifying among the top six just once in the first five races of the campaign.

Team Galactic Look to Regain Early-Season Magic

Further down the Midnight Bay Grand Prix odds, Team Galactic looks to regain their early-season magic as a +1000 bet, while four teams sit knotted at +1100 including the Green Ducks, Snowballs, Team Primary, and the Thunderbolts.

Team Galactic looked to be the team to beat during the first half of the season while rolling to victory at both the Savage Speedway Grand prix and the HiveDrive Grand Prix, but success has eluded the Marble League veterans ever since. The silver and white have started near the back of the grid in each of the past three races, and have been forced to settle for a pair of eighth-place finishes during that stretch to fall to fourth place on the Marbula One Team Championship Standings and all but out of contention for this season’s title.

None of the teams chasing Team Galactic have fared much better. The Green Ducks, Snowballs, Team Primary, and Thunderbolts all finished out of the points last weekend. That proved to be particularly disappointing for the Snowballs and Thunderbolts, who had returned to contention with a one-two finish two weeks ago at the Short Circuit Grand Prix.

Pick: Midnight Wisps +800
