Some of baseball’s biggest stars won’t be showcasing at the 96th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesdsay.

But just because notable stars Shoehei Ohtani, Aaron Judge and Vlad Guerrero Jr are out, that doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty of star power in the midsummer classic. They’re electric, and they are young, with 11 all-stars under the age of 25.

The American League, who have won seven of the last 10 midseason showcases, will enter this one as +122 underdogs in the MLB odds.

First pitch goes this evening at 8pm ET from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, with FOX providing the broadcast coverage. Read below for my MLB All-Star Game picks and predictions.

As mentioned, the AL enters as +122 underdogs in as the road team Tuesday, while picking the National League to win outright comes with decent -127 odds. Taking the NL to win by at least two runs offers enticing +156 odds.

Getting a couple of run to take the AL is going to cost you, with juice running at -163, while the total sits at 7.5 runs, the Over getting -127 odds.

There should be no nerves for Mike Trout, who will be making his 12th appearance in the midsummer classic, the most of any player in the field. It’s about as close to a homecoming the Millville, NJ, native will get and he’s always been a star among stars, hitting .381 with 1.500 OPS in his All-Star Game career.

It’s feast or famine early if you’re looking at the batter vs pitcher stats between NL leadoff hitter Kyle Schwarber and AL starter Dylan Cease.

In his career, Schwarber is 3-for-13 (.231) with two home runs, three RBIs, and four strikeouts vs Cease. And while he could get got, those are nice odds to go yard in your own ballpark.

MLB All-Star Game Pick

Over 7.5 Runs
56%

I know that the Under has cashed in 14 of the last 19 games, but the scores have been trending upwards the last two games, with a total of 21 runs plating, with both games going Over Tuesday’s 7.5 total.

That’s a big boost compared to the previous seven ASG’s when the teams combined to score seven runs or less in six of the previous seven.

While I talked about the star bats that will opt out of the showcase, there are far more pitchers that won’t be taking the mound for 1-inning highlight reels.

Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski will miss the game with arm fatigue, while the Yankees are being extra cautious with star Cam Schlittler, who they don’t want throwing on what would regularly be a recovery day. That wipes out the betting favorites in both the NL and AL Cy Young odds.

Ohtani might very well have been the starter, but his ailing left knee is keeping him out, and he’s followed by pitching royalty in Paul Skenes, Tarik Skubal, Zack Wheeler, Chase Burns and Ranger Suarez.

There’s still plenty of arm talent in game, with fireballers Dylan Cease and Christopher Sanchez definitely setting the tone for the midsummer classic, but once this game works its way into the middle innings, the multitude of bats should be able to generate some runs.

The venue matters too: Citizens Bank Park is definitely hitter-friendly: the 121 home runs hit there this season ranks inside baseball’s Top 10 parks, and looking at MLB Park Factors 2026, has yielded the fifth-most runs per game, over the last three seasons.

That’s enough to push my wager to the Over.
