Eovaldi continued his strong playoff exploits against Tampa Bay in the AL Wild Card, going 6.2 innings while allowing six hits, no walks, and one run with eight strikeouts in the Rangers’ series-clinching Game 2 victory.
Eovaldi didn’t face the O’s in the 2023 regular season, but did see them three times in 2022 while still with the Red Sox. In those three starts, he allowed 15 hits and just three earned runs over 20.2 innings while racking up 17 Ks and walking just a single hitter.
Kremer saw the Rangers once in 2023 and, while it was a quality start, it was far from perfect. He pitched 6.1 innings of five-hit, two-walk, three-run ball in a 5-3 home setback. Tuesday’s MLB player props list Texas slugger Adolis Garcia with the best odds to hit a home run (+235) closely followed by teammate Corey Seager (+265). Kremer has yet to hold the Rangers to fewer than three runs and, for his career, has poor home/road splits (4.25 ERA at home versus 4.75 ERA on the road).
Expect the Rangers to do to Kremer and the O’s exactly what they did to Zach Eflin on the Rays in Game 2 of the Wild Card: open up a big early lead and cruise to victory on the strength of another strong start from Eovaldi.
