The MLB playoffs are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Sep. 29th
The league adopted an expanded 16-team format for 2020
The playoffs will start with eight best-of-three Wild-Card series (four in the AL and four in the NL)
The first round of the MLB’s expanded playoffs starts Tuesday, Sep. 29th, when the Minnesota Twins host the Houston Astros at 2:00 pm ET. In total, 16 teams – eight in the American League and eight in the National League – are still vying for a spot in the 2020 Fall Classic.
Unlike past years, all teams will take part in the Wild-Card round, playing best-of-three series. The #1 AL seed faces the #8 AL seed; #2 faces #7; #3 faces #6; and #4 faces #5; same goes for the NL.
All games in the Wild-Card round will take place at the home field of the better seed. The Division Series, League Championship Series, and World Series will all be at neutral sites.
The World Series odds heading into the postseason favor the LA Dodgers, despite a litany of October stumbles in recent years. Now it’s time for you to decide if the addition of $365-million man Mookie Betts will finally put the Dodgers over the top. Below, find SBD’s printable MLB playoff bracket, along with the first-round schedule for all eight Wild-Card series.
All four American Wild-Card series will start on Tuesday, Sep. 29th. The four NL series begins on Wednesday, Sep. 30th. All games in the Wild-Card series will be played back-to-back (to-back in necessary).
