New York vs Toronto Probable Pitchers

Brito isn’t having the greatest year, currently 2-3 with a 5.81 ERA in eight starts. However, he did look a lot better last time out against the Oakland Athletics. Brito took the no-decision, tossing 4.1 innings of two-run baseball while striking out three and allowing two walks.

When it comes to the Blue Jays, the rookie has yet to face them. Their electrifying offense will be a very good test for the 25-year-old, who tends to pitch a bit better on the road with an ERA of 5.40.

Brito vs Manoah

Manoah is certainly not living up to expectations for Toronto after such a fantastic 2022 season. The right-hander is 1-3 with a rough 4.83 ERA in eight outings. The biggest issue for Manoah is command, issuing 25 walks in just 41 innings.

The 25-year-old last pitched on May 9th against the Phillies, lasting only 4.2 innings and surrendering three earned. The four free passes were a big reason Manoah didn’t stay in the game longer. On a more positive note, Manoah absolutely deals vs New York, compiling a 1.93 ERA lifetime.

Although New York still sits at the bottom of the American League East, they’re playing much better baseball as of late, winning four of their last six. The Bronx Bombers first swept the Oakland Athletics then just split a four-game set with the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend, who have the best record in baseball.

Aaron Boone’s squad lost the finale Sunday by a score of 8-7 in what proved to be a wild affair. Aaron Judge came just feet away from slugging what would’ve been a game-tying homer in the bottom of the ninth and ultimately went just 1 for 5 on the day.

Blue Jays Break out of Slump

Toronto was in a bit of a cold spell but they broke out in a big way over the last three days, sweeping the high-flying Atlanta Braves. That now puts the Jays eight games above .500 and just two games behind the Baltimore Orioles for second in the division.

Danny Jansen played hero for one of the best MLB lineups around Sunday, smacking a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth that proved to be the difference-maker. Five different Blue Jays had two or more hits as well as the offense truly exploded.

Yankees vs Blue Jays Prediction

I know Manoah is not himself in 2023 but it’s difficult to look past his impressive ERA against the Yankees. Even though his 7.70 ERA at home is slightly concerning, I’ll take the Jays moneyline behind a quality outing from their former Cy Young contender.
