  • UFC Fight Night 147: Till vs Masvidal goes March 16th
  • Compelling underdog opportunities present themselves at 205 lbs and 125 lbs
  • Picks and betting odds for this England fight card can be found below

UFC Fight Night 147: Till vs Masvidal features two integral bouts to the Welterweight contendership hierarchy: the titular Till vs Masvidal, and Gunnar Nelson vs Leon Edwards in the co-main. There are some great prize fights across multiple divisions though.

A lot of quality European talent will be showcased with some coming off pronounced layoffs. ESPN+5 goes live from the O2 Arena as UFC returns for this London broadcast. Picks for UFC Fight Night 147: Till vs Masvidal can be found below.

Cachoeira Gets the Underdog Win

UFC Fight Night 147 features two Flyweights clawing for a top 15-20 spot in UFC’s most recently established weight class.

There’s a tremendous amount of parity in these lighter-weight classes for women. This is why I see a case for an underdog bet here. McCann is coming into this with some hype and conversely, Cachoeira has this dark cloud hanging over her.

McCann vs Cachoeira Odds

Fighter Odds 1 Odds 2
Molly McCann -190 -185
Priscila Cachoeira +155 +160

*All odds taken 03/11/19

That aforementioned Priscila perception is rooted in her prior outing against current Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. The extremely one-sided betting odds leading into it were reflected in how the story of that fight unfurled.

I still think this is a decent underdog bet. Though McCann is a former Cage Warriors titlist, it appears both have faced a similar caliber of competition.  Both are coming off losses so I see a frenetically paced, hotly contested fight with Priscila edging out a split decision.
Pick: Cachoeira (+160)

Oezdemir Reasserts His Presence at 205 lbs

UFC Fight Night 147: Till vs Masvidal tells a tale of the difference 18 months can make. A year and a half ago, Reyes only had one UFC win and Oezdemir was the most foreboding light-heavyweight contender around.

Fast forward to the present, Reyes is the new hotly discussed 205 lb-er and many are seemingly treating Volkan as an afterthought.

Oezdemir vs Reyes Odds

Fighter Odds 1 Odds 2
Volkan Oezdemir +200 +200
Dominick Reyes -260 -235

Oezdemir last tasted victory Summer 2017 but since then he has lost to pound for pound ranked/current heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Anthony Smith (last man to contend for the UFC Light-Heavyweight belt).

Reyes’ perfect record has many hyping him as a great prospective contender. In a division that has long been starving for fresh challengers, The Devastator is indeed capturing the imaginations of many.

Don’t sleep on Volkan though or he’ll end up sleeping you. I see “No Time” getting back on track after a two fight losing streak.
Pick: Oezdemir (+200)

Duffy Gets Back in the Win Column

With Diakiese on a three-fight losing streak, I could see this fight leading to him receiving walking papers. Diakiese’s last UFC win came two years ago and he’s not getting a gimme fight here in Duffy.

Duffy vs Diakiese Odds

Fighter Odds 1 Odds 2
Joseph Duffy -210 -210
Marc Diakiese +170 +180

Joseph Duffy is one of four men in history to defeat dual division titlist Conor McGregor in MMA. Overall, Joseph has the better UFC record and has had a stronger strength of schedule.

Considering the individual skill sets of both men, it speaks volumes to the shark tank that lightweight is (neither are top 15 ranked per UFC’s system).

There will be a partisan crowd at UFC Fight Night 147 backing Diakiese, but I don’t think it will be enough. I have Duffy at UFC Fight Night 147.
Pick: Duffy (-210)
