- The ‘BMF’ title is on the line
- Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will put the belt on the winner
- Darren Till moves up to middleweight in the co-main event
The Octagon is at the Mecca of combat sports as it touches down at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 2nd.
In the main event, the ‘Baddest Motherf****r’ (BMF) title is on the line as Jorge Masvidal takes on Nate Diaz in a highly-anticipated scrap. The co-main event sees Darren Till move up to middleweight to take on Kelvin Gastelum.

Who’s The BMF?
Jorge Masvidal (34-13) is coming off two very impressive knockouts. After not competing since November 2017, “Gamebred” returned in March of this year and knocked Darren Till out cold.
In his next fight, he knocked out Ben Askren in just five seconds for the fastest knockout in UFC history. Although Masvidal has 47 professional fights, he has much more than that as he fought often in Kimbo Slice’s backyard league in Miami. As a professional though, he has notable wins over Donald Cerrone, Michael Chiesa, and Yves Edwards.

Nate Diaz (20-11) returned to the Octagon in August after three years away. He took on Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 and looked very impressive as he edged out a decision win.
He said he took the time off because everyone sucked, but personally called for the bout with Masvidal after his win.
The Stockton-native is a fan favorite and has notable wins over Conor McGregor, Donald Cerrone, Jim Miller, and Gray Maynard.

This is easily one of, if not the most anticipated fights in the UFC this year. Both fighters are fan favorites and had incredible performances their last time out.

I expect this one to go to the distance as Masvidal has not been finished since 2009 while Diaz has not been finished since 2013. Diaz should have the advantage on the ground and in the cardio department, but power and striking go to Masvidal making this is a super close fight.
I don’t expect this fight to hit the ground, so I think “Gamebred” needs to win the first couple of rounds and get in the face of Diaz who looks to be the one to pressure.
In the end, it will be a really close fight but I think Jorge Masvidal will become the “BMF” champion as he beats Nate Diaz by decision in a very exciting fight.
Pick: Jorge Masvidal (-160)
Darren Till vs. Kelvin Gastelum Odds

---|---|---|
Darren Till | +160 | +180 |
Kelvin Gastelum | -200 | -210 |
Who’s Returning to the Win Column?
Darren Till (17-2-1) is coming off back-to-back losses at welterweight which forced the move to middleweight.
In his last fight, he was knocked out by Jorge Masvidal and before that was submitted by Tyron Woodley for the welterweight title.

Kelvin Gastelum (15-4 and one no-contest) is coming off of a ‘Fight of the Year’ contender at UFC 236 when he lost to Israel Adesanya at UFC 236 for the interim middleweight title.
Since his move up to 185 pounds, he is 3-2 with a no-contest which includes a knockout win over Michael Bisping. Gastelum also holds a win over Ronaldo Souza, and in his career beat Uriah Hall, Nate Marquardt, and Jake Ellenberger.

Till will be the bigger and stronger fighter, and I think he will have a similar game plan that he had against Stephen Thompson. I believe the Englishman will use his length and reach to pick apart Gastelum.

Gastelum, meanwhile, will need to get inside and close the distance and try to land the power shots. Yet, I don’t think he will be able to and Till will win by decision.
Pick: Darren Till (+180)
