Luque vs Muhammad 2 Odds, Prediction & Best Bet

Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad have both been on a roll and this fight is crucial as the winner will likely be a win away from a title shot.

Luque vs Muhammad Recent Fights

Luque
VS
Muhammad
Michael Chiesa, win by submission Fight 1 Stephen Thompson, win by decision
Tyron Woodley, win by submission Fight 2 Demian Maia, win by decision
Randy Brown, win by TKO Fight 3 Leon Edwards, No Contest (eye poke)
Niko Price, win by TKO Fight 4 Dhiego Lima, win by decision

The first time these two met, Luque stepped up on short notice, and both men were still relative unknowns to the UFC, and it was Luque who won by TKO in just 79 seconds, so it is hard to take anything from it. Since then, both men have been on a roll. Luque has gone 10-2, while Muhammad has gone 10-1, and are both ranked in the top-five.

Luque is one of the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster as he is always in entertaining fights, and he only has one decision win in his UFC career. Muhammad, meanwhile, is more of a grinder who looks to get his takedowns and hold opponents against the fence and grind out wins that way.

There’s no question Luque is the better striker and has one-punch KO power as we saw in the first fight against Muhammad as he landed a clean shot that dropped him and finished him off via ground strikes. In the rematch, I do expect it to be a longer fight than the first one and one that is competitive. Both men will have moments as I do think Muhammad will be able to get Luque down, however, on the ground, he has slick jiu-jitsu and could catch Muhammad with a submission.

Ultimately, I expect Luque to keep it standing for the most part and once he gets taken down he will get back up and piece up Muhammad and in the third or fourth round, he will find the stoppage win. This line should be around -225 in the UFC Vegas 51 odds, so at -177 it’s a solid bet to take the Brazilian straight up to get the win.

Pick: Vicente Luque (-177)

Borralho vs Omargadzhiev UFC Vegas 51 Pick

The co-main event is a surprise as it serves as Caio Borralho and Gadzhi Omargadzhiev’s UFC debuts, but the promotion is high on both of them after their Contender Series wins. With that, the winner of this will likely get a big push up the middleweight ranks.

Borralho & Omargadzhiev Recent Fights

Borralho
VS
Omargadzhiev
Jesse Murray, win by TKO Fight 1 Jansey Silva, win by submission
Aaron Jeffrey, win by decision Fight 2 Vladimir Vasilyev, win by decision
Wildemar Santos, win by decision Fight 3 Aleksey Novikov, win by TKO
Ykaro Queiroz, win by decision Fight 4 Matias Sosa Campi, win by TKO

This is an intriguing matchup as both men are pretty similar as they are good grapplers along with being solid strikers. Omargadzhiev is the better striker and has more power than Borralho, but the Brazilian will look to clinch the Russian grind the win out.

As the odds suggest, this fight is a close one, but I do lean with the underdog in Borralho, who I expect will be able to extend this fight past the first round. Once that happens, Borralho will be the fresher and a stronger fighter. He will use his jab and clinch a decision win and start his UFC career 1-0.

There’s a little bit better value on Borralho at FanDuel Sportsbook. That being said, all bettors should be shopping for the best prices on their bets.

Pick: Caio Borralho (+113)

Other UFC Vegas 51 Picks:

  1. Miguel Baeza (-186):  This should be a phenomenal fight. Baeza is the better striker and has more power. He should be able to catch Fialho to get the TKO win.
  2. Mayra Bueno Silva (-400): Wu isn’t UFC caliber and Silva will prove that here as she will be piece her up on the feet, and mix in the grappling, which will lead to a stoppage win late in the fight. Silva is a solid parlay piece for this weekend.
  3. Pat Sabatini (-400): Sabatini looks like the real deal and will be too strong for Laramie and should be able to take him down and outwrestle the Canadian to win a decision. Either use Sabatini as a parlay piece or look for Sabatini by decision.
