  • Friday brings us three Games 3s in the NBA Playoffs
  • The Suns and Bucks are both at threat after injuries to Devin Booker and Khris Middleton
  • Read below for Friday night’s NBA player props and best bets

It’s a night of all-important Game 3s across the NBA Playoffs on Friday. The Miami Heat can pretty much seal a spot in the second round with a win over the Atlanta Hawks. Miami is favored by 1.5 after cruising to wins in the opening two games.

Milwaukee goes on the road without Khris Middleton, who is ruled out for three or four weeks. Chicago is still underdogs on its homecourt, but they have a golden opportunity to take control of the series after an impressive Game 2 win.

Even without Devin Booker, the Phoenix Suns are favored on the road against the Pelicans. Having looked like an easy first round matchup for Chris Paul and co., however, this is suddenly in the balance following Brandon Ingram’s Game 2 heroics.

Trae Bounces Back at Home

Trae Young averaged 35 and 11 at home since All-Star, compared with just 25 and 10 on the road over the same period (excluding the underwhelming performances in the first two games of this series). This is must-win for the Hawks in front of their own fans, and we know what Young can do when the lights are brightest.

A points and assists line of 36.5 is low. Young might have been far short in both games in Miami, but he passed this in each of his final seven regular season games. The Heat defense has been stellar to start this series, yet they are not going to be able to keep Young quiet all the way through. He’s simply too talented. Even when doubled and trapped, there’s enough offensive talent around him to get some easy assists.

There’s also recent evidence of Young hitting this over against the Heat. The All-Star guard dropped 35 and eight against the Heat in the penultimate game of the regular season with Miami at almost full strength.

It wouldn’t be a shock to see Young reach this in points alone. Despite an uncharacteristically quiet first two games, this over is good value.

  • Pick: Trae Young over 36.5 points and assists (-115)

Ingram Hits Assists Over

Brandon Ingram has notched six or more assists in four of his last six games. He’s second only to Chris Paul in average potential assists this postseason, sitting at 15 per contest. The gaudy scoring numbers are what catches the eye, but Ingram has come on leaps and bounds as a playmaker during his time in New Orleans.

YouTube video

The former Laker delivered nine dimes in Game 2. He’s played 39 minutes in each of the first two games in this series. An average of 6.6 assists per game since All-Star ranks above Kyle Lowry, Cade Cunningham and Ja Morant.

Coming off an explosive scoring performance in Game 2, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Suns be a bit more aggressive with their defense on Ingram. He’s a masterful tough shot maker, but Phoenix could look to force the ball out of his hands more often. It’s not the Suns’ typical defense, though adjustments are inevitable after Ingram’s stat line a couple of days ago.

We’re rolling with Ingram here – he’s good value at this price to record six or more dimes.

  • Pick: Brandon Ingram over 5.5 assists (-106)
