The Cleveland Cavaliers (11-0, 5-0 away, 9-2 ATS) are doing something not seen since the 2015-16 Warriors, who won their first 24 games en route to a record-setting 73-9 season. This season’s Cavs have won their first 11 games and gone an NBA-best 9-2 against the spread in that span. On Monday night, Cleveland visits the Chicago Bulls (4-6, 1-3 home, 4-6 ATS) at the United Center at 8:10 pm ET. The red-hot Cavs are 8.5-point road favorites against the inconsistent Bulls.

The Cavs have been downright dominant this season. Not only are they 11-0, they also have a +12.5 average margin of victory. Six of their 11 wins are by double-digits. That said, only one of their last five wins came by a double-digit margin, and they’ve had to pull off some late-game miracles to keep their perfect record intact.
The Bulls aren’t a bad team when they’re healthy. With Zach LaVine (22.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 3.3 APG) in the lineup this year, the Bulls are actually a game over .500 (4-3), including wins over Milwaukee, Memphis, Orlando, and Atlanta. LaVine has been battling a thigh injury but returned from a three-game absence last time out, scoring 18 points in 32 minutes in a 125-113 upset of the Hawks in Atlanta as 2.5-point underdogs. He’s officially listed as probable for tonight’s game against Cleveland.
While the Bulls obviously look much different this year now that DeMar DeRozan is in Sacramento, effectively replaced in the starting lineup by former Thunder guard Josh Giddey, it is worth noting that they went 1-1 SU at home against the Cavaliers last year.
Cleveland’s impressive win streak has the notion of a Chicago victory being undervalued. I am tempted to take Chicago to win straight-up at significant plus-money (as long as +270 at Caesars). But I am going to stick with the Bulls +8.5 at -105 at ESPN Bet. I am also going to bet on LaVine to go over 18.5 points in his second game back from injury. If he doesn’t play, that wager will be voided.
