After a rough start to their 4-game trip out West, the New York Knicks (40-30, 21-14 away) can finish in style if they can best the Portland Trail Blazers (31-37, 17-15 home).
The Blazers are trying to put an end to their own three-game losing skid, as they return home after a 6-game road trip with just two wins to show for it.
Injuries are a big consideration in this one, as New York’s Jalen Brunson (foot) is questionable and could miss his fifth game in the last six.
Meanwhile, Damian Lillard (calf) and Jerami Grant (quad) are both listed as questionable. Lillard missed Portland’s last game against the Pelicans, and Grant played just 19 minutes, scoring seven points.
It all gets underway Tuesday (March 14) at 10pm ET from the Moda Center in Portland, OR. You can watch the game live on NBA League Pass.
Knicks vs Trail Blazers Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
New York Knicks | -1 (-110) | -115 | OFF |
Portland Trail Blazers | +1 (-110) | -105 | OFF |
The NBA odds have the Knicks as slight 1-point favorites, and -115 on the moneyline, an implied win probability of 53.49%.
At 21-14 away from Gotham, the Knicks are tied with the Celtics for the most road wins in the NBA this season. They’re also the best bet in the league on the road, going 23-12 against the spread.
Portland is looking on the perimeter of the NBA Playoff Bracket in the West, two games back of 10th and final play-in spot. They haven’t been a great bet as a home ‘dog (albeit in a small sample size), going 4-5 ATS.

New York Betting Analysis
After labouring through a 3-game losing streak, Julius Randle finally lived up to his all-star form, as the Knicks picked up win no. 40 in a 112-108 victory over the Lakers.
Randle led the way with 33 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while going 11-for-24 from the field. In New York’s last three losses, he had shot 18-for-63 from the field (28.6%), which included a dreadful 5-for-24 performance in the previous loss to the Clippers.

He did have some support from RJ Barrett, who added 30 points and five boards. Immanuel Quickley was the only other Knicks player to hit double-digits, potting 15 points and adding three assists.
New York currently boasts the 5th-best offensive rating in the NBA, though they are 17th in defensive rating, despite allowing 112.3 points per game, which ranks eighth.
The Knicks are top-4 in both field goal defense (45.6%) and three-point defense (34.6%).
Portland Betting Analysis
The Blazers are simply running out of games, and even superhero-level play from Damian Lillard probably won’t get them into the play-in.
With Lillard out, Portland got bombed 127-110 by the New Orleans Pelicans — a team down both Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.
Anfernee Simons was the leading scorer with 17 points and four assists. Kevin Knox had 14 points and five rebounds off the bench, matched by Shaedon Sharpe’s 14, with four boards and three dimes.

Portland is 26th in the NBA in three-point shooting defense, and they were lit on fire by the Pelicans, who drilled 18 of their first 30 money balls, shooting 47.5% for the game.
The Blazers’ defense has been an abomination during this skid, surrendering 120.7 points per game, with teams shooting 49.8% from the field and 40.3% from distance.

Knicks vs Trail Blazers Betting Prediction
This will be the second and final meeting between these teams this season, with Portland taking the first game 132-129 in OT.
New York has not been a great cover in the Pacific Northwest, going just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 in Portland. Then again, the Blazers have had their troubles with East opposition, going 11-16 ATS in non-conference games.
And don’t count out the first home game back slump after a road trip: Portland is just 1-4 ATS in their last five home games following a road trip that’s gone seven or more days.
That’s enough to bet with confidence on the Knicks, who are 7-1 ATS following a win where they’ve covered.
Pick:
- Knicks -1 (-110); 1.5 units to win 1.36 units
- NBA Betting Record: 35-32-1 ATS, 1-2 ML, 7-0 o/u, 0-3 parlays; -8.05 units
