The Clippers are returning from a four-game road trip that saw them bounce from Phoenix to San Antonio to Charlotte to Toronto, going 2-2 overall and ending with a 115-108 loss at the Raptors on Sunday. It’s no secret that the Clippers are one of the older teams in the league. All three of their leading scorers – Norman Powell, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard – are 31 or older. They are just 4-6 straight-up on zero days’ rest and, while they did have Monday off, Tuesday will be their eighth game in 14 days with a lot of recent travel mixed in.

This game is technically the end of a six-game road trip for the Lakers, but they’ve been sleeping in their own beds the last two nights and haven’t played since Saturday, when they earned a hugely impressive 128-112 road win over the Knicks.

LeBron James went off for 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists in the win over the Knicks, while Austin Reaves added 27 and Rui Hachimura 21.

The Lakers have now won six of their last seven, allowing them to vault the Clippers for the #5 seed in the West. As the injury reports, below, evince, the Lakers have more missing bodies but the additional rest should help make up for it.

The Clippers took the first meeting between the teams this season (116-102 home) but the Lakers won three of four last year.

The Lakers are in much worse shape injury-wise than the Clippers. In addition to Doncic and Kleber, Cam Reddish (3.3 PPG, 2.0 RPG) is doubtful. LeBron James (24.0 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 9.1 APG) and Gabe Vincent (5.0 PPG, 1.3 RPG, 1.3 APG) are both probable.

The only player on the Clippers’ injury report is seldom-used guard Cam Christie (1.2 PPG, 1.2 RPG in five games this season).
