My favorite NBA props bet tonight is over 4.5 assists for Orlando’s Paolo Banchero. The former number one pick could be in line for more usage with Franz Wagner currently listed as a game-time decision, but even if he plays Banchero has proven he’s one of the Magic’s premier distributors.

I’m also betting under 2.5 threes for Cade Cunningham at juicy plus-money odds. Cunningham is being tasked with shouldering the bulk of the Detroit scoring burden, and it appears like it’s finally taking a toll on him.

Detroit’s elite rim protection has forced Orlando to rely heavily on drive-and-kick opportunities, heavily inflating Banchero’s playmaking volume. The defense is holding opponents to a staggeringly low 38.7% shooting from the field. Facing this towering frontcourt, Banchero is constantly deferring to perimeter options like Bane.

Banchero established a solid baseline of 5.2 assists per game during the regular season. However, he is averaging an elevated 6.2 assists per game in the playoffs. He has eclipsed his regular-season baseline significantly, boasting a massive 27.2% usage rate and 25 total assists through four games.

Given his proven track record of elevated facilitation in hostile environments—averaging 5.7 assists across 35 away matchups this year—taking the over provides excellent value tonight.

As for Cunningham, Orlando boasts a terrifying perimeter defense built on aggressive pressure. They are forcing 10.8 steals per game and limiting opponents to a frosty 27.5% shooting from deep. Those numbers are on par with some of the top NBA Championship odds contenders, and make them a tough out no matter what the matchup.

While Cunningham is averaging exactly 2.5 made threes on 8.8 attempts per game this series, his efficiency has fallen off a cliff. He is shooting a dismal 28.6% from beyond the arc against this highly switchable defense.

Furthermore, Cunningham has gone under this 2.5 prop line on average at home, posting just 1.5 made threes per game in his 28 home matchups this year. The Magic have only allowed opponents to average 8.0 made threes per game in away contests, limiting home teams to an abysmal 27.6% deep shooting.
