Man, leave it to Jimmy Butler to spoil a party.

The Heat star went off, dropping a 45-plate in Game 2, and Miami needed every single one of them to outlast the Hawks and take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-7 series.

He dashed any hopes of our single-game parlay (SGP) cashing, with a layup early in the third quarter to give him 23 points.

The betting sun rises again however, and we’re right back at it in a virtual must win in Toronto, as the Raptors are down 2-0 to the Philadelphia 76ers as they head home for Game 3 Wednesday night.

76ers vs Raptors Game 3 Odds

Team Moneyline Spread Total
Philadelphia 76ers -125 -2.5 (-105) O 216 (-110)
Toronto Raptors +105 +2.5 (-115) U 216 (+100)

All odds as of April 19th at DraftKings.

Philly’s been so wildly good this series, it’s surprising the visitors are just 2-point favorites — though Scotiabank Place does offer one of the last true home-court advantages in the NBA.

Looking at the last two head-to-heads, and some regular season trends, we’ve compiled a pretty stout five-leg parlay that is worth your consideration.

We’ll start with the Sixers, and their two main stars, who’ve been cruising so far through two games — by their standards, anyways.

Philadelphia Props to Consider

Look, Joel Embiid’s 31 and 11 looks plenty dominant in Game 2, but he hasn’t been under a lot of stress to deliver. Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris have been supercharged third and fourth wheels through the first two games. The pair combined for 64 points in Game 1, and another 43 in Game 2.

The move from home venue traditionally affects role players, so don’t expect such spectacular outputs from Maxey and Harris. Instead, Embiid will have to do more heavy lifting.

Fortunately, the Raptors have shown no plan yet to contain him.

It feels like stealing, but one of the frontrunners in the 2022 NBA MVP odds should coast past 30.5 points.

What about Embiid’s running mate? We may not see the scoring-champion version of James Harden (for at least this season), but this point guard edition is still plenty frightening.

I think Philly’s gameplan will be to feature plenty of Embiid in the block, and Harden making sure the big man and everyone else stays well fed. This would have sounded asinine even a year ago, but I’m in on plus-odds with The Beard going sub-20 scoring.

Toronto Props to Consider

With 2022 NBA Rookie of the Year finalist Scottie Barnes still ailing, illness zapping any contribution from Gary Trent Jr, and Precious Achiuwa, Chris Boucher and Khem Birch basically taking turns trying to slow down Embiid, it’s up to Toronto’s playoff vets to be prominent.

Let’s start with Pascal Siakam. He hasn’t been bad this series, averaging 22 points through two games, but he’s hit just one three-pointer on three attempts. He’s now gone 10 straight games with just one or less three-balls made. That’s only happened one other time this season.

Hitting just a little bit more from distance can really help loosen things up offensively. He’s getting +240 odds to hit a couple of triples.

Fred VanVleet was a shell of himself in Game 1 as he picked up two fouls in the first minute of the game, basically keeping him on the defensive all contest.

Game 2 was more of what you expect as the head of the defensive scheme — at least early on, when Toronto was competitive.

FVV had three steals,  and he should be plenty active in Game 3, as he has no choice but to help on Embiid down low, while also trying to stop the Maxey and Harden straight line drives. He should be able to snag a couple.

The final leg of this parlay rests with OG Anunoby, who has looked like the most competent player on both ends of the floor for the Raptors.

OG has gone 19-for-29 in the series, averaging 23 points, a 65.7% clip from the field, while hitting 6-for-11 from deep, a crisp 48.6% mark. Look for him to top 20+ a third straight game, which comes at +120 odds.
