The Minnesota Timberwolves (3-2) hit the road to take on the San Antonio Spurs (2-3) at the Frost Bank Center on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Tipoff is set for 8:00 PM ET. You can catch the game locally on FanDuel Sports Network – Southwest and FanDuel Sports Network – North, or stream it on NBA League Pass and FuboTV.
The odds favor the Timberwolves, who are -170 on the moneyline and -3.5 on the spread. The Spurs sit as +140 underdogs. The total is set at 214.5 points, with the under at -110.
Let’s dive into our Wolves vs Spurs prediction for Saturday Night basketball.
Wolves vs Spurs Prediction
The Timberwolves look to stay hot after a 119-116 comeback win against Denver. They’ve won three of their last four games behind Anthony Edwards’ explosive scoring (29.8 PPG) and Rudy Gobert’s glass-cleaning (11.8 RPG).
The addition of Julius Randle has given Minnesota’s offense a real boost. He’s putting up 23.3 points since joining the team, and the Wolves are a top-five favorite in the NBA Championship odds.

The Spurs just put together their most complete game of the season, crushing Utah 106-88. Victor Wembanyama stole the show with a jaw-dropping performance. The young phenom stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks – becoming just the 15th player in NBA history to record a 5×5 game.
However, San Antonio still can’t find consistent offense. They rank just 29th in scoring at 103.6 points per game. Chris Paul (7.8 assists) keeps things organized, but scoring remains a struggle beyond Wembanyama and Jeremy Sochan.

The back-to-back could slow Minnesota down. Still, their talent edge should be enough for a close road win. The Spurs’ tough defense will make them work for it, though.
My best bet for this matchup is the Under 213.5. Both teams play lockdown defense and walk the ball up the court. The Spurs rank 3rd in points allowed at 105.0 per game, while the Wolves aren’t far behind at 12th (112.4).
The under has cashed in four of San Antonio’s five games this season. Both teams play at a snail’s pace – the Wolves rank 24th while the Spurs sit 23rd. With Minnesota on tired legs, points should be even harder to come by.
- Prediction: Timberwolves 107, Spurs 101
- Best Bet: Under 214.5 (-110)
Wolves vs Spurs Odds & Trends
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Minnesota Timberwolves | -3.5 (-115) | -170 | Over 214.5 (-110) |
San Antonio Spurs | +3.5 (-105) | +140 | Under 214.5 (-110) |
The books have installed the Timberwolves as road favorites here. Their -170 moneyline implies a 62% chance to win, while the Spurs check in at +140 for a 41.7% shot at protecting home court.
For Minnesota to cover the -3.5 spread, they’ll need to win by at least four points. They’ve struggled against the number so far, going just 1-4 ATS this season. Meanwhile, the Spurs have been money at home, covering in 7 of their last 10.
The total sitting at 214.5 tells you what oddsmakers think about these defensive-minded squads and their methodical pace. The under has been printing money in Spurs games, hitting in four of five so far. The Wolves have trended the other way lately, though, with overs in three of their last four.

NBA Player Props to Consider
- Anthony Edwards Over 26.5 Points (-110): Ant’s been cooking, clearing this number in 4 of 5 games while knocking down 42.4% from deep.
- Victor Wembanyama Over 2.5 Blocks (-115): The youngster’s averaging 3.2 swats, and Minnesota’s interior attack should give him plenty of chances.
- Chris Paul Over 7.5 Assists (-125): The Point God has hit 8+ dimes in 4 of 5 games while running the show for San Antonio.
Injury Report
The Timberwolves are fully healthy, which helps offset the back-to-back factor.
The Spurs will be missing two key pieces. Both Tre Jones (ankle) and Devin Vassell (foot) are sidelined. Their absence means even more creation duties for Paul and Wembanyama.
Recent history favors the Wolves, who’ve taken seven of the last 10 meetings between these teams. While both squads bring the defensive intensity, their offensive firepower differs significantly. Look for a tight, defensive struggle that stays under the total as Minnesota grinds out a road win.
