The Minnesota Timberwolves continue their three-game road trip on Thursday against the high-flying Golden State Warriors, who are winners of three straight. The tip-off is scheduled for 10pm ET at the Chase Center.

Minnesota is also enjoying a winning streak, collecting their second consecutive victory on Tuesday in Portland against the Blazers. As for the Dubs, they blew out Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks that same night by 38 points in the Bay Area.

The Wolves did beat Golden State on January 16th, but Steph Curry was sidelined. Golden State is a heavily bet home favorite as you can see in the NBA betting trends, with 90% of the money on them to cover.

Timberwolves Recent Results

Minnesota is actually enjoying a rather decent campaign thus far, currently sitting in seventh place in the NBA Western Conference odds with a 24-23 record. They’re really finding a groove lately as well, going 7-3 in their last 10 games.

On Sunday, the Timberwolves took out the Brooklyn Nets at home and then most recently, Chris Finch’s squad pulled out a nail biter vs Portland.

Anthony Edwards was the star of the show in this contest, erupting for a game-high 40 points in one of his best performances of the year. D’Angelo Russell also dropped 22, while Karl-Anthony Towns was a beast down low, putting up 17 points and grabbing 17 rebounds.

The Wolves thrived inside against the struggling Blazers, outscoring them 42-36 in the paint. But, it wasn’t exactly a great offensive performance, with the team shooting a mere 33% from long range and just 44% overall.

Nevertheless, Minnesota stormed back in the fourth quarter after being down for most of the night thanks to some clutch buckets from the likes of Russell and Edwards down the stretch.

They clearly took advantage of a poor Portland defense and managed to notch their 24th win of the season. Despite the victory though, the T-Wolves are just 11-13 on the road this year.

Green Still Out for Warriors

The Warriors were handed some concerning news earlier this week as it was announced that Draymond Green has no clear timetable for return from his calf injury.

That’s a huge blow to the Dubs on both sides of the ball but especially, defensively. It also doesn’t help that Steph is in the worst slump of his life right now, but, the rest of the rotation is seriously stepping up.

Steve Kerr’s group embarrassed Dallas on Tuesday, with literally everyone getting in on the action. 2022 NBA MVP favorite Curry only had 18 points, but he was one of seven different players who finished in double-figures.

Klay Thompson also looked solid, dropping 15 points and dishing out six assists. Rookie Jonathan Kuminga led the charge with 22 points on 4-for-4 shooting from beyond the arc.

Golden State were absolutely lights out from a shooting standpoint, draining 40% of their triples and 53% of their field goals. The ball movement was tremendous as well, dishing out 31 dimes.

Klay and Steph were the main catalysts in that category and since Draymond has been out, Curry in particular has really stepped up and served as more of a playmaker to make up for the loss of Green, who is the ultimate floor general for this team.

In every aspect, it was a superior performance for the Warriors. They’re now 22-4 at the Chase Center and will certainly be riding a high on Thursday after such a dominant victory. But, the Timberwolves cannot be taken lightly. The entire squad needs to bring their best once again.

Timberwolves vs Warriors Prediction

I really like how the Warriors are playing right now.

They’re truly playing like a team, with so many different players doing their part. Even with Curry not at his best lately, Golden State is unstoppable in the Bay Area. That being said, I believe the Dubs will cover here and extend the win streak to four.

Pick: Warriors -5.5 (-110)
