  • Read below for Toledo vs Wyoming odds, picks, and predictions for the Barstool Arizona Bowl

On Saturday, Toledo (11-2, 6-7 ATS) takes on Wyoming (8-4, 7-4-1 ATS) at Arizona Stadium in Tuscon, AZ at 4:30 P.M. EST. This is the third time that the Rockets have faced the Cowboys, and the series is split. In 2010, Wyoming won 20-15, and in 2012, Toledo beat Wyoming 34-31.

Both games have been close ones, and based on the latest college football odds, this one should be no different. Wyoming is currently a 3.5-point favorite over Toledo, and the game total is set at 44.5 points.

Toledo Rockets vs Wyoming Cowboys Odds

Team Point Spread Moneyline Total
Toledo Rockets +3.5 (-115) +145 O  44.5 (-110)
Wyoming Cowboys -3.5 (-105) -170 U 44.5 (-110)

The favorite has changed in this bowl game since the line opened in early December. Toledo opened as 1.5-point favorites, but the Rockets are now 3.5-point underdogs. The line has stayed around 3.5 since mid-December however. The total opened at 45.5, so it has slightly been bet down to the current line of 44.5.

As -170 favorites, Wyoming has an implied probability of 62.96% to win the 2023 Barstool Arizona Bowl.

Toledo Betting Trends

Toledo was on their way to a New Year’s Six bowl, but their hopes were crushed when they lost to Miami (OH) in the MAC Championship 23-14. The Rockets were undefeated in MAC play in the regular season, but could not best the Redhawks for a second time in the Championship game. Before that loss, Toledo’s only defeat was in Week 1 against Illinois.

Toledo’s offense led the MAC with  431 yards per game and 35.3 points per game during the regular season. They will be without MAC Player of the Year DeQuan Finn, who opted out of this game and transferred to Baylor. Finn accounted for 27 of Toledo’s touchdowns this year. If that was not enough, MAC Offensive Player of the Year, Peny Boone also entered the transfer portal. The Rockets defense is also a strong unit, as they ranked third in the MAC in points allowed per game.

The Rockets went 6-7 against the spread this year, but have covered four of their last six matchups.

Wyoming Betting Trends

Wyoming enters the Barstool Arizona Bowl with an 8-4 record. They also covered the spread at a 63.6% clip this season. Wyoming has also covered the spread in three of their last four games. The Cowboys went 5-3 in Mountain West play and were an impressive 7-0 at home. That undefeated home record includes an upset win in overtime over Texas Tech in Week 1. That does mean that they have only won once this year away from Laramie.

The Cowboys played in the Barstool Arizona Bowl last season but lost to Ohio 30-27 in overtime. Looking ahead to this year, Wyoming has a balanced attack on offense. Senior quarterback Andrew Peasley was efficient under center this season with 20 passing touchdowns and only five interceptions. While they average just over 26 points per game, Wyoming’s offense has put up 42 points in back-to-back games to finish out the regular season.

Wyoming’s defense has been a strong unit all year long. They ranked third in the Mountain West in yards per game (360.25 ypg) and second in the conference in points allowed per game (22.92 ppg). The Cowboys defense will be looking to tee off on Toledo’s young, backup quarterback.

Toledo vs Wyoming Prediction

This would be a much different game if Finn and Boone was playing for Toledo, and the Rockets would still be favored more than likely. Toledo will look to sophomore quarterback Tucker Gleason to lead them to victory, but this Wyoming defense will be too much for the young quarterback.

The transfer portal has affected Wyoming less, so they will have more continuity on the field. They are also familiar with the Barstool Arizona Bowl and all the unique features this bowl game has over others.

The Cowboys will be much more motivated as head coach Craig Bohl will be retiring after the season, so Wyoming will want to send him into retirement with a win. Toledo was so close to a New Year’s Six Bowl and came up short, so that combined with the transfer portal and the possibility of Jason Candle taking another job, the Rockets will not have much juice in this game.

Toledo will struggle to score against Wyoming’s defense, and the Cowboys’ offense will be efficient enough to win this game by more than a field goal.

Pick: Wyoming -3.5 (-105)
