If the Clemson Tigers (9-1, 7-0 ACC) have any shot at still making the College Football Playoff, they’re going to have to do it as a 1-loss conference champion.
Their Week 12 opponent, the Miami Hurricanes (5-5, 3-3 ACC), would love nothing more than to crush those hopes and give 1st-year ‘Canes coach Mario Cristobal a signature win in an otherwise down year.
It all gets underway Saturday (November 19) at 3:30pm ET from Memorial Stadium, in a game that can be seen live on ESPN.

Hurricanes’ Betting Outlook
After getting obliterated 45-3 by the Florida State Seminoles in Week 10, Miami bounced back to bring their record to .500 with a 35-14 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who were 2-point favorites.
The Hurricanes did a number on Georgia Tech with their ground game, rushing for 217 yards on 44 carries, a healthy 4.9 yard clip.
Jaylan Knighton led the way, running for 118 yards on 16 totes and a TD. Quarterback Jacurri Brown — making his first career start — chipped in with 87 yards on 19 carries. He also went 14-for-19 for 136 yards with three TD passes.

On the year, they are 82nd in rushing, averaging 140.1 yards per game. Overall, they rank 66th in FBS, churning out 392.2 yards of total offense per game.
Defensively, Miami picked off Tech QB’s Zach Gibson and Zach Pyron twice each. Kamren Kinchens had himself a game, with three of the four interceptions. The ‘Canes boast the 42d-ranked defense in the NCAA, giving up 356.1 yards, while holding teams to 23.9 points per game (48th).
Tigers’ Betting Outlook
Miami wasn’t the only team that needed a bounce back. After Clemson’s undefeated season was set ablaze with a 35-14 loss at Notre Dame, the Tigers got back in the win column with a 31-16 win over Louisville.
It was the team’s 39th straight win at home, and clinched the ACC Atlantic Division outright.
Clemson grinded the Cardinals down with an impressive run attack, piling up 248 yards on 45 carries and three touchdowns. Phil Mafah led the way, carrying 10 times for 106 yards and a touchdown. Will Shipley finished with 97 yards rushing on 19 totes.

Their defense is also among the first-page leaders, allowing 340.8 yards per game, which ranks 32nd. Clemson is also giving up just 21 points per game (28th), while holding teams to 111.6 yards rushing (19th).

Miami vs Clemson Prediction
Miami hasn’t been a great bet — unless you’ve been going against them. The Hurricanes are just 1-8 against the spread in their last nine games, and are 0-4 ATS against a team with a winning record.
As for Clemson, they are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 conference games, and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 November games.
In this head-to-head matchup, the favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings, while Clemson is 6-1 ATS in the last seven.
While the Florida State game was a total blowout, it was the just the second time all season Miami had been beaten by 20+ points.
Clemson has a 2-2 ATS mark this year when playing as 19-point favorites or more. While they have four wins of 20 points or more this year, they’ve only had it happen once in the last seven games.
The Tigers still have something to play for and I believe they win, but the Hurricanes showed last week they’re not just playing out the stretch.
The Pick:
- Hurricanes +19.5 (-110); 1 unit to win 0.91 units
- Week 11 NCAAF Record: 2-1: Overall: 6-6 ATS, 1-0 ML, 1-3 o/u; -2.18 units
