The Seattle Sehawks have a lot of work to do if they want to keep their 2021 playoff hopes alive.

Following a disappointing shutout at the hands of the Green Bay Packers in Week 10, seven teams sit between Seattle and the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. The window is closing and the urgency rising for Russell Wilson and company.

For the Cardinals, they’ve gone 1-1 in two games without one-time MVP front-runner Kyler Murray. By virtue of the Rams’ inability to take care of their own business, the Cards still sit atop the division.

Kickoff is set for 4:25 pm EST from Lumen Field in Seattle.

Cardinals vs Seahawks Odds

Team Moneyline Spread Total
Arizona Cardinals -125 -1.5 (-110) Ov 47.0 (-110)
Seattle Seahawks +105 +1.5 (-110) Un 47.0 (-110)

The Seahawks are underdogs at home, which is an unfamiliar spot for Wilson and Pete Carroll. Despite missing their starting QB for three games, Seattle went 3-0 against the spread in that stretch. Overall they’re 5-4 ATS.

NFL Public Money has moved both the spread and total down from opening, as Arizona has gone 1-1 ATS without Kyler Murray in the lineup. He failed to cover in his last game against Green Bay, which snapped a streak of five-straight.

Cardinals vs Seahawks Injury Report

The Seahawks spent weeks waiting for good news when it came to their starting QB’s finger injury. While the results weren’t great in his Week 10 return, having him back is the real victory.

Arizona, on the other hand, has gotten both good news and bad news this week.

Week 11 Injury Report

Colt McCoy, QB Pectoral, Questionable N/A N/A
Kyler Murray, QB Ankle, Questionable N/A N/A

After practicing on Friday of last week and not playing, Kyler Murray got in three limited sessions this week. He’s a game time decision. While things are looking better for Murray, DeAnre Hopkins will miss another week. The hope is he can return following the team’s bye.

Cardinals vs Seahawks Head-to-Head

2021 has really represented a changing of the guard in the NFC West.

The Seahawks have been a perennial contender for close to a decade. For nine-straight seasons they’ve finished either first or second in the division. In that same stretch, Arizona has only cracked the top two three times.

Cardinals vs Seahawks: Last Five Games

November 19, 2020 Arizona Cardinals Seattle Seahawks 28-21 Seahawks SEA -3.0 56.5 (Under)

If there’s anything to be learned from the last five matchups, it’s that covers aren’t a foregone conclusion in divisional games. Three of those games were decided by one score, and one of the others was a one-score game with under three minutes to go.

Due to the fact that the Cardinals were rebuilding or on the rise, they were never favored in any of those games. It immediately adds a unique twist to their first meeting of 2021.

Russell Wilson Looks to Rebound

You may have heard in the aftermath of the disappointment against Green Bay that Russell Wilson had never been shutout. In 150 career starts, that was the first time his team had failed to put up any points.

That can’t sit well with Wilson and, finger injury or not, the expectation for Sunday is that Seattle fields a hungry, and angry offense.

Russell Wilson: 2021 Season vs Week 10

2021 Season Averages
VS
Week 10
18/25* Comp/Att 20/40
72.0% Completion Percentage 50.0%
239.2* Yards 161
2* Touchdowns 0
0.1* Interceptions 2
2.6* Sacks 3
125.3 Rating 39.7

*Average over five games

Wilson’s averages even take into account his Week 5 game against the Rams where he tried to play another series despite the broken finger. He went the first four games of his season without throwing an interception; he’s thrown three over his last two games.

Cardinals vs Seahawks Prediction

The great unknown here is the Cardinals’ offense. Just how good will Kyler Murray look? For a QB that relies so much on his mobility, his ankle injury may respond well in practice, but it’s a different set of circumstances come game time.

This is a bad spot to catch the Seahawks too, as their leader will undoubtedly be motivated to put last week behind him. While they offered mixed results with Russ at the helm earlier in the season, Seattle will make a statement on Sunday.
