  • You can significantly improve the probability of covering your NFL bet against the spread by teasing the lines, if done properly
  • There are three teams who fall into the proper teasing window with their spread and also hold dominant advantages over their opponents in key predictive metrics
  • See the three teased ATS picks I am parlaying in Week 8

Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season sees another 13 games to still be played following Green Bay’s win over the Panthers on TNF. Looking to those 13 remaining games, there are three that (a) have spreads within the ideal window for teasing, and (b) see one team hold a significant advantage over the other in key predictive metrics.

The five metrics I prefer for predicting ATS covers are: (1) net pass yards per attempt, (2) overall success rate differential, (3) net pressure differential, (4) red zone touchdown gap, (5) and explosive play differential. Then I throw in one more that serves as an indicator of luck – turnover vs efficiency divergence.

I have taken the three teams who hold the significant advantages in these metrics, and teased their spreads by six points to get through the key numbers of 7 and 3. This dramatically improves the probability of these teams covering. But in order to balance potential profit with probability, I am parlaying these three picks as well. See my picks below!

TOTALTEASER3-LEG PARLAY+131

This three-leg NFL parlay for Week 8 is best played at BetMGM, where you can get +131 odds. You can get very close at bet365 with +130 odds, but most other sportsbooks do not allow you to play one-point spreads.

You’ll find my breakdown of each leg below.

Parlay Leg #1: Dallas Cowboys -1

The first leg of my favorite ATS parlay for Week 8 is the Cowboys -1. Dallas holds advantages over Arizona in five of the six metrics I look to, with significant advantages in three of them.

The most notable difference between these two teams is Dallas’ massive +30.4% advantage in red zone touchdown gap. Arizona struggles to convert their red zone drives into touchdowns, while struggling to keep their opponents out of the end zone once they reach the red zone.

Dallas is also the much more explosive team, holding a +5.3% advantage in explosive play differential. So, while neither of these teams are great when it comes to overall success rate or net yards per play, the Cowboys at least explode for big plays to make up for their lack of efficiency.

Not only do the Cowboys hold these notable advantages over the Cardinals, but this is also a situation of a team having to play much earlier than usual. Arizona is Mountain Time, so it’s not as bad as Pacific, and are traveling to play in the 1pm ET block, which will feel like 11am for them.

I don’t think the Cardinals will be able to stop this Dallas offense, nor do I think they can take advantage of a bad Dallas defense.

Parlay Leg #2: Los Angeles Rams -1

The second leg of my NFL parlay for Week 8 is the Rams -1. The standard spread in this matchup is LA -7, but I am teasing the spread six points.

The Rams hold the advantage over the Chargers in all six of the metrics I trust the most, and they cross the ideal threshold in five of them. The most significant of the bunch are:

  • +2.43 advantage for the Rams in net pass yards per attempt (greater than 1.5 is ideal)
  • +12.3% advantage for Rams in overall success rate differential (greater than 6% is ideal)
  • +22.5% advantage for Rams in red zone TD gap (greater than 15% is ideal)

Plain and simple, the Rams have been better than the Chargers in just about every way. I appreciate the Chargers are coming off a bye, and have maybe resolved some of the issues that have been plaguing their offense, but I don’t think they can make up this entire gap in just one week off.

Parlay Leg #3: New England Patriots -1

The final leg of my parlay for Week 8 is the Patriots -1. Similar to the last pick, the Patriots also hold an advantage over the Dolphins in all six key metrics I trust, and cross the ideal threshold in three of them:

  1. Net Pass Yards per Attempt: +1.98 for New England (ideal is +1.5 or greater)
  2. Overall Success Rate Differential: +9.7% for New England (ideal is +6% or greater)
  3. Net Pressure Differential: +10.3% for New England (ideal is +10% or greater)

If the Patriots hadn’t started the season on such a low, the discrepancy between these two teams would be even more significant. I know this is a divisional matchup, and that the Dolphins did just beat the Jets last week, but the Patriots would have to play a horrific game for this one to remain close, in my opinion.
