Can Nick Mangold go 2-for-2 again on his Monday Night Football props?

My Week 2 ATS pick didn’t go as planned, but I had to get one wrong somewhere, right?

Instead of dwelling on my loss yesterday, I’m diving right back in with the two best player props to bet for the Monday Night Football matchup between the Cleveland Browns and my New York Jets.

If you’re not familiar enough with props yet to bet them, either keep reading or check out SBD’s Browns vs Jets odds for your more traditional wagering opportunities.

As I mentioned last week, player props boil down to you predicting how well one specific player will perform, regardless of the final outcome of the game. Last week, I nailed both my props: Drew Brees to pass for more than 287.5 yards and Alvin Kamara to rush for more than 57.5 yards.

If you want to brush up further on this type of wager, you’ll want to open up SBD’s guide on how to bet props.

I’m sticking with two similar player props for Week 2 and both feature Jets players. Let’s get to them!

Prop #1: Le’Veon Bell Rushing Yards

Le’Veon Bell Rushing Yards Odds
Over 70.5 -114
Under 70.5 -114

Let me start by clarifying something: Trevor Siemian is not Sam Darnold.

Siemian will take over under center for the next handful of weeks with Darnold sidelined due to mono – no time for mono jokes when giving betting advice.

With a backup QB leading the offense, the Jets are going to lean heavily on their bell cow, Le’Veon Bell.

The Browns gave up 123 yards on the ground last week to Tennessee, 84 of which were totaled by their lead back Derrick Henry. Bleeding yards on the ground is nothing new for Cleveland, who ranked 28th in run defense last season.

With all the work Bell will see tonight, 71 rushing yards shouldn’t be a problem.

Prop #2: Robby Anderson Receiving Yards

Robby Anderson Receiving Yards Odds
Over 48.5 +120
Under 48.5 -156

As I said above, Siemian is not Darnold. However, that doesn’t mean Siemian is a bad quarterback.

He was thrown into a pretty tough spot in Denver, with an offensive line that struggled to protect him. But when he had time, and was still healthy, he got the Broncos off to a 6-1 start in 2016 – keep in mind Paxton Lynch had to start in their Week 5 loss to the Falcons that year.

So don’t think Siemian isn’t going to put the ball in the air. And when he does, I expect to see it going deep in Robby Anderson’s direction a few times.

Head coach Adam Gase has lit a fire under Anderson by trading for WR Demaryius Thomas from the Patriots. I fully expect to see the 26-year-old come out with something to prove Monday night.

Cleveland surrendered more than 49 yards to three different Titans receivers in Week 1, none of which were no. 1 target Corey Davis. Look for the Browns to try and remove the short stuff to Bell and Jamison Crowder, leaving Anderson to expose one-on-one coverage.
