Gatorade Odds Movement

Since Gatorade odds opened up, purple has held firm at the top favorite, though has dipped from +225 on January 31 to +275 today.

Blue was the second-betting choice at the BetMGM app at that time at +275, but has been usurped by orange at +325 today. That’s a big move for orange being previously priced at +500.

Blue has dipped in the odds to +375, while yellow/green remains a contender, and has shortened from +450 to +375.

The remaining Gatorade odds movement has seen red/pink shorten from +500 to +400, clear/water lengthen from +1000 to +1100 and no Gatorade bath adjusted from +3000 to +2000. Clearly some bettors are banking on both coaches escaping the sidelines and dodging the bath should their team come out victorious.

All that said, we’re summarizing the odds at BetMGM, but be sure to shop around at the top Super Bowl betting apps as prices will vary. For instance, if you’re siding with purple, FanDuel is currently offering the best price at +380.

Gatorade Public Betting Splits

Despite purple being the most-favored Gatorade color, the Gatorade public betting splits from DraftKings are showing that the public is piling up on orange and red.

Orange has 23% of the handle and 24% of the bets, while red has 22% of the handle and 23% of the bets.

Purple is seeing just 13% and 8% in those categories respecticely.

Gatorade Color History

Last year the Chiefs won the Super Bowl and dumped purple Gatorade on Andy Reid. In Super Bowl 54 when they won against the San Francisco 49ers, it was orange. No real trend there.

With purple cashing in Super Bowl Gatorade props for bettors last year, it became the first time since Super Bowl 46 where purple was used. Purple has actually only been the winning color of Gatorade three times in the past 20 years.

Purple was also the biggest underdog for a color (not including clear or no gatorade bath) to be used by the Super Bowl winner last season, priced at +750 when it cashed last year. So there’s some proof that the favorites don’t always cash.

Blue has been the color of Gatorade at the Super Bowl to be dumped on the winning coach the most in recent years having cashed in three of the past five Super Bowls and four of the past nine. All-time, blue has come in the fourth-most times.

Orange has been used in five of the past 14 Super Bowls.

Clear has been the outcome the most times at eight, but hasn’t been the color of champions since Super Bowl 42 in 2008.

Super Bowl Gatorade Odds Prediction

While this betting market is a great way to add a thrill to the final seconds of the Super Bowl, it is nearly impossible to truly form an educated guess on this betting market. With the Chiefs having used two separate colors  in recent seasons, plus the unknown of the favored 49ers, trends are not entirely reliable for any bets placed.

Additionally, with the Chiefs and 49ers both having red in their jerseys and the Chiefs having chosen to wear red jerseys for the game, it would make sense for it to be used by at least one side of this matchup.

While there’s ultimately no real way of knowing, we are putting our money down on red/pink for this year’s Super Bowl Gatorade bath.

This would be juicy winning wager, currently slated at +400 odds (4-1), meaning a $10 wager would net you a profit of $40.

Gatorade Color Pick: Red/Pink (+400)
