  • Dwayne Haskins is projected by many to be the first QB taken in the NFL Draft
  • Trace McSorley ran for 798 yards and 12 TD last year and needs a good combine to be drafted
  • The NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 25th

You can’t bet on NFL games for a while and that’s a bummer.

The good news, however, is you can bet on the 2019 NFL Combine. Not only can you bet on results, there are actually several head-to-head competitions.

Dwayne Haskins vs Drew Lock

Who Runs The Fastest 40 Yard Dash? Odds
Dwayne Haskins +110
Drew Lock -150

All odds taken 2/28.

Stephen A Smith from ESPN claimed Dwayne Haskins was more of a runner than a thrower.

There’s a reason he was shredded online for what was one of the most laughable takes in recent memory.  Haskins was up for the Heisman Trophy after a season where he had 4,831 passing yards and 50 touchdowns while running for only 108 yards.

If this competition was anything other than running, Haskins would be the pick. He’s more accurate, more talented, and will be selected before Lock, but the one thing he can’t do is run faster.

PICK: DREW LOCK (-150)

Daniel Jones vs Will Grier

Who Runs The Fastest 40 Yard Dash? Odds
Daniel Jones -120
Will Grier -140

This battle seems much more one-sided than the odds suggest.

The last three seasons, Daniel Jones ran for a combined 1,323 yards, an impressive total for sure.

Will Grier last season, on the other hand, finished the campaign with -90 rushing yards. I’d go with the more comfortable runner here, especially considering he’s paying the better price.

PICK: DANIEL JONES (-120)

Tyree Jackson vs Trace McSorley

Who Runs The Fastest 40 Yard Dash? Odds at
Tyree Jackson +120
Trace McSorley -160

This may be the most one-sided of the props on the board, but betting the favorite will cost you.

Trace McSorley ran for 798 yards and 12 TD last year for Penn State. Tyree Jackson, on the other hand, ran for only 657 the last three years combined.

Jackson can run but does so more by necessity, where McSorley gets more opportunities by design.  McSorley is also an inaccurate passer and knows he needs to impress with his legs to get drafted.

In a sprint with a potential draft pick on the line, I’ll take the QB with more experience using his feet.

PICK: TRACE MCSORLEY (-160)

Damien Harris vs Josh Jacobs

Who Runs The Fastest 40 Yard Dash? Odds
Damien Harris -115
Josh Jacobs -125

Unlike the QB competitions, this one pits two Alabama running backs against each other.

Both have similar stats and both are almost exactly the same size – Harris stands 5’11 and weighs 215, while Jacobs is 5’10 and 216.

The one thing you can use to try and separate the two is looking at who has the longer runs. Harris’ runs of 73, 75, and 73 yards the last three seasons are all longer than Jacobs has ever had.

A lot of that can be circumstance for sure, but looking for a tiny edge in what should be a tight competition, I’ll take the guy who more consistently shows the ability to hit a 2nd gear and separate from defenders.

PICK: DAMIEN HARRIS (-115)
