So far in the NFL public betting splits, the Chiefs are getting the majority of ATS handle (90% as the 8.5-point road chalk) as well as most of the moneyline action (96% as -410 away favorites).

Bolton Out Again for Chiefs

It will be the second game in a row that MLB Bolton has been absent from the Kansas City defense. He did not practice at all this week.

Backup RCB Jaylen Watson will also be missing for a second successive week due to a shoulder injury. The news was more positive on second-string TE Noah Gray. The reserve to All-Pro Travis Kelce was returning to full practice on Friday after missing two days due to illness.

Adams Missing Second Straight Game

After winning the starting FS job in training camp, first-year player Adams made 10 tackles through two games prior to his Week 2 hamstring injury in the loss at Dallas. He’ll be missing his second straight game.

Backup guard Wes Schweitzer remains in the NFL concussion protocol and will also be missing his second consecutive game. With hip and shoulder injuries putting starting LT Duane Brown on IR, Mekhi Becton returned to LT. He’d begun the season as the starting RT for the Jets.

How Could Injuries Affect Chiefs vs Jets Betting Lines?

The story for the Jets is becoming less about Rodgers being hurt as it is about how much having Zach Wilson under center is hurting the team. New York is 0-5 straight up in Wilson’s last five starts.

Over that span, the Jets have scored under 20 points in all five games, and 10 or less in four of the losses. Twice, they’ve been held without a touchdown. There’s speculation that another poor performance in this game will see Wilson benched in favor of journeyman Tom Boyle. In the NFL player props, taking the under on just about any Wilson stat would be advisable.

Rodgers is expected to be on the sideline for this game. Will his presence help or hinder Wilson? In an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show this week, Rodgers cited the Jets needing to grow up and show more poise on offense.

With Bolton again an absentee, it will be Drue Tranquill getting the start at MLB for Kansas City. He also started last week against the Chicago Bears. Tranquill is tied for third on the Chiefs with 14 tackles.

Minus Watson, CB depth will be provided by rookie Nic Jones. The 2023 seventh-round draft pick out of Ball State will be making his first NFL appearance.
