Patrick Mahomes and the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs (1-2) will be out for blood when they battle the Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm ET this Sunday on CBS.
Both teams lost to division rivals in Week 3 but Philadelphia’s was worse. The Eagles looked like doormats as the Dallas Cowboys went up and down the field on them seemingly on every possession hanging 41 points in the process. While the Chiefs lost, they showed fight against a very good Los Angeles Chargers team losing 30-24 on Mike Williams touchdown with less than a minute remaining in regulation.
There isn’t much faith in the streets on the Chiefs judging by the action so far. Kansas City opened as 8.5-point favorites only to be bet down to -7 at the time of publishing. The total opened at 50 but has since been bet up to 54.5 at most places.

The Kansas City Chiefs
The biggest surprise of the season so far is the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are 1-2. Last place in the AFC West is not where many had this team after three weeks but here we are. Still, this team is definitely down but not out. Anytime Patrick Mahomes is on your team, you can never be counted out.

Mahomes will no doubt be out for blood after last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs’ first three drives ended in turnovers which is obviously not a hole teams want to climb out of. Still, Kansas City actually led 17-14 going into the fourth quarter of that game. They ultimately lost, but they are clearly not a team that quits.
The Philadelphia Eagles
The Monday night game last week was quite the flop unless you’re a Dallas Cowboys fan. They beat the brakes off of the Philadelphia Eagles in every way imaginable. The only reason the game even appeared to be close after one quarter was because the Eagles got a gift touchdown on defense.
That’s all in the past now as quarterback Jalen Hurts was ready to move on right after the game.

The Eagles’ downfall was the fact that they could do nothing to stop the Cowboys’ run game. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard each averaged 5.5+ yards per carry on 10+ carries each. If teams want to win in the NFL, that simply can’t happen.
Chiefs vs Eagles Best Bet
As bad as the Eagles looked defensively Monday night, their offense was actually decent. Jalen Hurts ended up with over 300 yards passing and they were able to hang 21 points on the board. In the grand scheme of things, that’s not that bad against a decent defensive team in the Cowboys.
One thing that can not be said about the Chiefs is that they have a decent defense. They are going to challenge for worst in the NFL. Couple that with the fact that Kansas City should score points, the game script sets up for a shootout. I like this one to go over 54 before the third quarter is over.
