This Thursday Night Football showdown kicks off at 8:20 pm EST and is seeing heavy action on San Fran in the Giants vs 49ers public betting trends.
Most key players are available to choose from for this Giants vs 49ers SGP, however, both teams suffered blows with Saquon Barkley (NYG) and Brandon Aiyuk (SF) suffering injuries in Week 2 and being listed on the Giants vs 49ers injury report.
Giants vs 49ers SGP Picks: 49ers Alternate Spread (-6.5)
The Giants may be 1-1 but they’ve looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL so far. They were blanked 40-0 versus Dallas in Week 1. Then fell behind 20-0 to Arizona in Week 2, before mounting a furious comeback to win 31-28. It’s great that they didn’t give up, but that means they had allowed 60 points this season before scoring any of their own. Also, needing that unlikely comeback against the Cards, a team most are predicting to go 0-17 is just embarrassing.
The 49ers rarely lose. In their past 15 games they’ve lost just once, in the NFC Championship game with Brock Purdy getting knocked out injured.
In the 14 wins during that time their average margin of victory has been 15.43 points. That includes two road wins to start this season by scores of 30-7 and 30-23.
The 49ers are heavy 10.5-point favorites and our SBD formula is predicting a 37.9-5.1 score in this game. Whether they cover that spread or not, is irrelevant for this SGP, as we’ll take the alternate spread of 6.5-points in our Giants vs 49ers picks.
Giants vs 49ers SGP Picks: Christian McCaffrey Rushing & Receiving (100+ yards)
Now we’ll dive in the Giants vs 49ers player props markets for the next leg of this Giants vs 49ers same game parlay.
In Week 1 Christian McCaffrey rushed for 152 yards and a score, while adding 17 yards receiving. He received the bulk of the rushing work with 22 of San Fran’s 34 carries.
In Week 2 he again saw 20 carries and again went over 100 yards, finishing with 116 rushing yards and another touchdown. As a passer he caught three balls for 19 yards.
Kyle Shanahan should use a similar approach and lean on CMC against the Giants on Thursday again. The Giants are 26th in opponents rushing yards per game (136.5). They’ve already allowed Tony Pollard of Dallas to rush for 70 yards and two scores in Week 1 (12 yards receiving) and James Conner to rush for 106 yards and a score in Week 2.
No matter how CMC gets there, we’ll include him to hit a combined 100 or more rushing and receiving yards in our TNF SGP. It’s something he’s done in four of his past five games.
Christian McCaffrey has a touchdown in 11 straight games, including regular season and playoffs.
With a touchdown vs the Giants tonight, he will match Jerry Rice in 1987 for the longest streak in 49ers history. pic.twitter.com/g3wXkJaUn4

Giants vs 49ers SGP Picks: Brock Purdy Passing TDs (Over 0.5)
Maybe he is human. Last game the 49ers put up 30 points, yet Brock Purdy failed to throw a touchdown pass. It was the first time in his short career that he failed to do so in a regular season game. He did though fail to do so in the playoffs last year.
He was just 17/25 for 206 yards in Week 2. In Week 1, he was 19/29 for 220 yards and two touchdowns.
In the regular season Purdy has now thrown for a score in 7/8 games and what’s more impressive is that he’s thrown for multiple touchdowns in each of those seven games.
He’s also thrown for 200+ passing yards in seven of his past eight games. That NFL player prop, or asking him to simply throw for one score would both be good same game parlay picks here.
